Post Schumacher has a HUGE crash in practice

Flipped the car twice !!!!

Seems that he lost control going into a corner and then it really went pear shaped..

He was ok though. Saw him out of the car , helmet off, walking beside the car as it was craned off.

You'd think the FIA knows better than to still have launch ramps on them kerbs. Jesus..one of these days, someone's gonna get seriously hurt.

F1 is boring enough as it is... we don't need flying cars to excite the crowd, we need passing!!!

From the angle of the footage, my best bet would be that one of the front wheels dug into the gravel trap and flipped the car.

What? You didn't hear Robert Kubica was just airlifted to the hospital?

NEVER FORGET!!

In all seriousness though, I hope MS signs on for a few more years. McLaren needs to sign Hamilton ASAP.

James Allen and Eddie Jordan!

If he goes to Merc, then Hamilton is a fool. McLaren can give him wins. Merc can (potentially) give him more money. What good is money if you're not winning (Damon Hill turned down a drive for McLaren so he could get more money from Arrows). Hamilton needs to focus on winning more and less on becoming tight w/that whole music industry crowd, if he plans on winning any more championships.

I opened this thread believing that Mercedes were conducting illegal in season tests. I guess they could have been doing some straight line testing or promotional filming which is allowed though.

Oof, of all the weeks of the year, you just had to pick one to be wrong.

From Day 2 of the F1 test at Marny Cours

Quote:
Michael Schumacher was on hand to watch and confer with Mercedes reserve driver sam Bird who was on duty in the W03, which featured the team’s Coanda effect exhaust system. Bird ended the day a tad over a second down on the day’s best time.

Bird said at the end of the day, “We’ve had a second very positive day at the test and successfully completed our planned schedule, including the evaluation of the performance items that we wanted to achieve. We’re happy with the results that we’ve seen so far and there is a lot of information to go through to hopefully help improve the car. It was a great experience to be back behind the wheel of a Formula One car this week, and to help with the development programme, and I would like to thank the team for giving me this opportunity.”

  1. Jules Bianchi (Force India-Mercedes): 1m16.467s – 117 laps
  2. Sam Bird (Mercedes): 1m17.482s – 125 laps
  3. Davide Rigon (Ferrari): 1m17.925s 163 laps
That is a sht-ton of laps.

I knew about the young drivers test; but if Shumi was driving, it would have been illegal.

Or barely legal if he was just doing straight line tests.
