Post Cherokee Trails rocks!! (pics)

Hey everybody, I wanted to be the first to jump in and give a live update from the rally. Day 1 ended with a huge number of DNFs, including Paul Eklund . The service area was great fun, Autorex and I hung out there while he did time control for service. His new yellow WRX was the center of attention, even the rally drivers were complimenting him on it. The yellow looks better than I thought it would.

Jeff was with us the whole time. He should be gettin home pretty soon. I think he was leaving right after the awards banquet, which ended at 10pm EDT.

I just got back myself, and I'm dead wiped. 2 freakin hours in first gear through Nashville on 24. Cause of that, my drive was just a hair under 12 hours.

To those who came out, glad to have met ya, and we'll have to go back just to run 30 and "that road to the left of the church".

I just dropped off most of my rolls from SS14. I should have them by lunch tomorrow. Hopefully, the zoom lens did it's job right. If it does, I should have some really nice shots.

at the final count, I have 16 rolls total. But I'm gonna send em off to be done with the CDs, so it's gonna take a little bit to get em online.

hopefully, I'll find someone with a video capture card and burner, or get one myself, and get the vids online soon. I'll keep ya posted!

Ok, I'm going to use photopoint this time... give me a few minutes to set it up...

I've got some nice pics, but the other guys with the expensive cameras have the really good stuff. They'll be worth waiting for.

Boy, Daphne looks pissed! I made her drive the transit back to the hotel, but she really wanted to drive the stages.

Thanks for the video. Looks like I cut the corner a little tight--you can hear the DMS strut go "sproing" as the left front catches the dip. PM me your address and I'll send you the in-car.

The beautiful Silver EVO VI wound up being wrapped around a tree. Mark is still learning how to drive. Man....I'd love to learn how on a EVO VI.

anyone get video of Tootiefrutie doing his victory donuts??? We got there too late, but saw the nice marks he left.

Porter, Thanks for the rally pics. They're very nice.By the looks of some of your pictures we were standing near each other on one stage. What kind of camera do you use? Is it digital or film? I'm thinking of switching to digital, but I'm still unsure of what to get.

Thanks

Chuck

Great pics, though you should fix your HTML or get a better server =)

Spaces and other non-standard characters in filenames is a big no-no.

Hey folks,
Here are my pics from the Rally in 'Nooga. It was cool to meet all you blokes.

I think the Cherokee Rally will be broadcast on Speedvision on Monday April 9. Check those local listings!

Later,

Remarcable-

I'm quite aware of the formatting/filename problem. If I had more hours in the day I'd certainly redo it. I'm usually a big proponent of clean code, but I was busy working today and didn't have time to reformat any of it. The fact that all the pics are thrown together on one page kind of gripes me too, too bad I guess.

damn you porter. neither the pics or the movies work for me. netscape problem? mac problem?

anyway, my pics will be done wed. and i'm getting photo cds as well. where should i post them?

and yes, that road left of the church was my favorite the only problem was when i had to keep stopping to let the rest of you catch up there just aren't roads like that in the midwest. some good gravel ones, but no mountian dirt roads with big slopes to slide off a-la hyandai.
