M-Sport has introduced the new Ford Fiesta Regional Rally Car (RRC) – a variant of the Ford Fiesta RS WRC - to customers at the Cumbria-based company’s testing ground at Greystoke Forest this week.
The new Fiesta RRC is based on Ford’s Fiesta RS WRC which claimed a podium clean sweep at the FIA World Rally Championship season-opener in Sweden earlier this year. Both cars share the same DNA but the Fiesta RRC features a 30 mm engine restrictor and aerodynamic modifications to qualify for the regional regulations. The RRC is supplied as a WRC variant with a kit of parts to enable it to be converted to WRC specification in six hours.
The Fiesta RRC is aimed at rallying’s most experienced drivers and marks the next step for drivers in their career after the highly successful Ford Fiesta S2000
Engine:
Ford 1598cc Pipo built GDTi engine. Four cylinders, 16 valves. Cosworth electronics engine management system. Catalytic converter, 30mm restrictor, RRC spec flywheel.
Torque:
360 Nm at 4750 rpm - RRC specification.
Transmission: Permanent four-wheel drive. M-Sport / Xtrac six speed sequential gearbox with AP clutch.
Suspension: Front and rear: MacPherson struts with Reiger external reservoir dampers, three-way adjustable. Fully adjustable fabricated steel links. Front and rear anti-roll bars. Machined aluminium uprights.

Asphalt (front ): 355mm Brembo ventilated discs with Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers.

Asphalt (rear ): 300mm Brembo ventilated discs with Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers.

Hydraulic handbrake.
Steering: Power-assisted high-ratio (12:1) rack and pinion. One and a half turns lock to lock.
Wheels: Gravel: 7in x 15in (aluminium) wheels with 650mm tyres.

Asphalt: 8in x 18in (magnesium) wheels with 650mm tyres meeting RRC weight requirements.
Bodyshell: Unitary construction. Unique composite side panels. Welded T45 steel safety roll cage. RRC aerodynamic rear wing, RRC unique front 'bumper' treatment and Intercooler duct.
Electronics: Full Cosworth electronics data acquisition for on-event diagnostics and performance development.

That is pretty sweet! Reestablishes entry for the wish bucket, for Ford to build a street legal Fiesta RS with awd...but it will never happen.

If I got this right you get a Fiesta WRC with downgrade bits to make it a RRC. When one gets bored you bring it up to WRC spec in 6 hours?
