Default Low gas mileage - 16 mpg (2011 wrx)

I used to get 18 mpg using the aem cai on stage 2, but after switching to the Cobb tuning Sri air box I started to get 16 mpg instead. Same driving habbits. Anyone else with the same problem?

For the 2011 WRX, we support the stock, Cobb SF, and AEM intake. Each of these intakes has a different set of maps. I would make sure that when you switched to the Cobb SF intake, that the correct Cobb SF map was reflashed. Other than that, there should be no difference in fuel economy between these intakes and I would just give it some additional time (since the reflash).

^I have a 2011 WRX running the 93 octane Stage II AEM map. 45-65mph hour long drive through bluffs and hills and I averaged 24.6mpg. Same trip back but using a ethanol free 93 from mobile I averaged 33mpg!

how long has it been since you reflashed it? let it settle, try it after 50 miles running the map.

I'm running a 2011 WRX, getting about 18mp from Cobb Stage1 map. Got about 21 on the highway. Disappointed But I didn't buy it for the mpg

People getting <20mpg either have something wrong with the car, crappy gas, or a combination. If the right map is run with the right fuel, it should be getting at least 22+mpg highway. ..............unless of course you're driving like there's a free taco giveaway somewhere.

I'm getting an average of 16.8 now with a combo highway/city driving. It's already on the second tank of gas. I guess i'll get my dealership to check it out for me later

I am running stage 1 +sf 93 map and at 70 mph I almost always get 27.x so I think 16 is some sort of issue.

I've been averaging 20-21mpg in the city and 24-25mpg on the highway with my 2008 wrx with a vf-52 swap protuned at 298whp and 314wtq.

Hmm.. I'm running Stage 1 93 and I get around 21-22MPG and I drive semi-aggressively. I also tend to drive a little too fast on the highway. I work from home so my car rides always vary.

My friend's wife also has a 2011 and she gives me a hard time because she gets an average of 24-26MPG. She definitely drives a lot more conservatively than I do.

Mileage can be very dependent on driving style. Also, if you are getting worse mileage and you just changed intakes, you might take a look at your install, there could be an intake/boost leak. However, how often you are in boost, how hard you drive etc can really take a toll on mileage.
