Agreed, but I was communicating with someone else (not about my car) and he decided to chime in. Either way, you are right in your point. Opinions are what you get on the thread and is the point of it. This Back and forth is just flaming up a good thread.

Really, I'm not offended, but I am over us ruining this thread. Opinions are opinions like the guy above this said.

thinking about getting 245/40/18 on my 8" wheel. would i still be able to lower my car without any rubbing issues? my fenders are rolled. the stance im going for is for the fender to sit right above the tire so theres hardly any wheel gap or no wheel gap at all.

Over winter I'm thinking about putting bc racing coilovers on my 02 Wrx. I'm wondering if anyone has experience fitting 17x8.25 (+25) on this model year or am I better of with an offset of (+35)? I'm a poor student so I'm looking at xxr 530s.

Neither is ideal.

Does anyone know the fender room on these? I've been considering trying to fit similar sized wheels with the same tires on an 09 WRX.

Coilovers, camber control all around, roll/pull in rear and roll/light pull in the front. Also, you could get away with a 235/40.

this, however i doubt you could get away with a 235 on the narrow body. Also, unfortunately for the narrowbody, you'll need adjustable LCA's in the rear in addition to the coilovers.

225, along with the modifications Digital mentioned.

Great info, was just on here looking for some advice in the right direction.

I am on H&R coilovers and have almost a 2 inch drop

Wheel Style - Rota DPT
Diameter - 18"
Width - 8.5"
Offset - +44mm
Tire : 215/35

I want to do some 5mm spacers and camber plates, but I want to go back up to a 225/35 (Also planning to get some 18x9.5 later) because I just dont like the harsh ride of these small tires...

Would this work out?

Camber plates aren't possible in the rear.

The narrowbody really doesn't have much room.

With the +44 offset a 235/40 will work or a 225/40, giving you little more sidewall for a better ride. I ran 235/40 on an 18x8 +35 without a problem. The higher offset and .5" width shouldn't make that fitment much different.

Browsed through the thread and did some searching, but haven't seen anything thats conclusive.

I've got an 06 STI with stock struts and springs currently. I'm wanting to pick up a set of Motegi MR119 Rims (45mm offset) with some 245/40/18 BFG KDW2's on them. This isn't going to cause any fitment problems is it?

I've heard my car can be a bit finicky with what you can fit because the rear fenders are a real PITA to properly roll.

Revised my setup

Car: 2005 STi
Fender mods: Shaved and hammered rear fenders
Camber: -3 all around
17x9 +11/+13 with 215/45/17 on -3 degrees of camber. My setup is equivalent with width and stretch profile to an 18x10 +24 with a 245/35/18

Has just a little poke all around. Love it

Hi. trying to get a set of wheels+tires for winter and hoping to minus size to 215/55/16
my car is a 2012 WRX sedan
and I'm wondering if a 16x6.5 +42 offset would work alright?

Or a 205/55 will fit well.

okay i see, now is that due to the offset of +42mm?

I sort of did some calcs for fun and the stock height of wheel and tire is 25.3" and 215/55 matches that exactly.

Nope, the +42 on the 6.5" wheel is just fine!

Ahh. thanks for that... been troubling me for a bit lol.

So last question - is there a good way to know if the wheel will clear the calipers without physically fitting them on the car?? basically I'm wondering if these wheels will clear..
