year: 2012
model:STi
wheel model: Advan RZ (bronze)
wheel size/offset: 18x9.0 + 45 (or 35)
tire brand/model: Stock
tire size: 245/40/R18
suspension: stock
alignment: None
fender mods: None (hopefully)
spacers: no

Looking for a pure performance setup. Not as worried about stance/more concerned about feedback.

Let me know before I pull the trigger. I've done some searching and think it will work, but would like some second opinions before I go for it.

I was told I could run these with a fender roll, just trying to confirm.
Still need some help, I can't find a straight answer.

Ok its that time of the year were we all get our income tax back and want to make a purchase. Need some advice. I have only seen these on 2010 and above and 03 on 18's. But what do you think on a 2002 WRX wagon, no fender flares. I doent understand offset set to well, i would not know what to go with. Think 17x8 on a 245 tire. Input....

What is the offset?

A 245 tire might be a little wide to fit under a wagon, but it depends on your suspension set up.

I honestly doent want to run anything crazy this time around, I had a lowered 04 civic on D2 coilover. I was thinking about just going with Tien lowering springs. A 235 should work, dont want crazy strech??

Trying to go with a flush look, doent want cazy camber.

I'm running 18x8.5 +48 with a 235/35 and less than -2* of camber all the way around and everything fits under my wagon. I'm about 2-2.5" lower than stock. The only problem is that there are only like 2 tires available in a 235/35/18 and a 225/40 will have a decent stretch on a 9" wheel. But since you're planning on going with a 17, you can probably do a 235/40 under wagon fenders.

ps- my wheels for sale too

Maybe a roll in the rear, but I don't see it being a major issue.

Just curious what size tires would be good? I don't want to have fender work done, I think I could do a 235/40/17 easy enough??
PS they would be summer tires

Tire brand/model: Hankook Ventus v12
Tire size: 235/40/18

I've been reading and searching, but i just want to get a straight answer before I drop about 2 grand. Thanks in Advanced.

Your stock 245s are not going to be a "pure performance" setup. Think more 265-285 for that. Fender mods are necessary for that kind of action. 10" wide is where you should be looking as far as wheel width.

Depends on the actual tire. 225/45R17 will likely fit without issues, 235/40R17 will more likely need a roll in the back. If you want NO work, then 7.5 wide with 225s is your ticket.

245/40R17 on a 17x8 will not be optimal, don't go past a 235 on that wheel width. It gets sloppy unless you run a short walled tire like 245/35R17 which is really for track or autox use. I've run it before.

A wagon will fit 245s, I put 255 R comps under mine. Offset is going to be very important along with alignment specs. The +45 range around -2 deg camber is where it fits well for most people with a fender roll.

If you are trying to do this with only springs, it may be slightly painful because of camber adjustments that will be necessary. You might want to consider something more conservative like 8"+45 with 235/40R17 with rolled rear fenders.

Nasty, but whatever you want. 9" with 215 is not within recommended ranges. 215 is a 7-8" wheel width tire. 9" should have 235 to 255s on it. 245/40R17 actually works really well for the wagon. The offset of that wheel is a little low and you should see if you can find something with a slightly higher offset if possible (around +45, yes 7mm matters if you want to get technical). Fender mods depend on your alignment settings. Rolled flat rears is a requirement. Rolling the fronts is not a bad idea.

Yes, the 17x9 +42 will fit. Depending on how low you are, the 245/40s will not fit in the rear without a roll and pull. Depending on the amount of camber you run in the rear, you may have some inboard clearance issues especially with that wide and tall of a tire.
