I'm moving to northwest Ohio and I will not be using my car much at all. It will be sitting outside in the elements, including all the snow. I am looking for something long lasting and not incredibly expensive to protect the paint from the elements and all the snow salt used in the winter. A couple months ago I had the local car wash place put sealtek (i believe) paint sealant on the car and it looked great. Just today I took some polishing compound to the front of the hood and front fenders and installed a clear bra. I of course used polishing compound on a larger area than the bra covers, and since I assume the polishing compound removed any sealant, I need something on those areas soon.
What would you all experienced with waxing, etc recommend for me? What about on the clear bra? I've heard that I should only use spray quick detailer on the clear bra. What about the rest of the car? BTW the car is only a couple months old. Thanks!!

Hey, I meant to mention that too! I had read unabomber's faq though and he recommended against using a car cover outdoors, so I was mostly staying away from those. But maybe I should consider it? I still would like something on the paint though... at least where I used the polishing compound.

Good coat of wax, and put the car cover on. make sure you tie the cover tight to prevent rubbing in the wind
