Yeah the Automatic rear diff is 4.44, while the manual is 4.11. I would need a manual rear diff as well then. Send me a PM and let me know how much you would let the 5MT go to a new home for!

Day off. Got some good progress in.

New clutch/pressure plate installed

Aaaand the EJ207 is being introduced to its new home

Gearbox was a pain in the ass, so no inbetween photos.

Tranny crossmember, with WL positive shift! Crossthreaded one of the stupid bolts, had to buy a tap.

Front hubs installed

And thats it for today.

As it stands right now:

Excellent... It's really coming together now. Des, let me know if you still need that silicone tubing, let me know. I have to make a run down to Greenline at some point, so if I don't have enough I can grab whatever you need there.

And then bring it to the meet. Even if it only runs on three cylinders...

Well, we spent a little time untangling the harness from the box and into the car after Des got off work.

Untangled and attached to the firewall:

1.5 hours later and some time spent searching for the heater core and HVAC blower, the heater core is in to hold the harness into place and the engine portion of the harness is in the engine bay:

And then, we went off the the Timmy's meet for some coffee and chit chat.

Well, the wiring harness is now complete in place. Only a few plugs in the engine bay needs to be connected once the rest of the associated bits such as the MAF gets reinstalled.

The V7 STI ECU into its new home:

The interior portion of the harness, HVAC, and dash beam is back into place:

The green bundle of wire needs to go to the back and connect to the fuel pump.

The GD steering column & STI steering wheel is back into place and connected to an STI steering rack.

The engine bay portion of the harness is now in place:

This big bundle near the firewall needs to be covered in heat shroud...

btw, top one is 2000 2.5RS 5mt driveshaft

It just needs to go up instead of down. Have it go up toward the windshield then have it split off. The way it is now will definitely hit the downpipe.

Is this better?

Update:

Working on putting in the radiator, it barely fits. 5mm clearance from the fans to belt.

Pssh, clearance is for pansies. Looks good though, now I'm jealous that I'm not working on my swap.

Beautiful!

You're are going to have serious issues running a GD radiator. The clearance is so tight and with the hose in the center you have to be really careful it doesn't hit the alternator. The only benefit is you have the aftermarket fans that have a cover over the blades so you can have it touch that to keep it away from the alternator. One other thing is the aftermarket Mishimoto fans don't pull as much air, so keep an eye on the temp gauge while stopped on really hot days.

So, moving on...

Installing the throttle cable. Turns out i have some cutting to do.

and mounted. No more cruise control, well, not like there was any to begin with.

prepping to do Walbro

getting this thing out was the biggest pain in the ass ever. Is that YaoMing in the newspaper?

Walbro installed.

now the banjo fitting on the top of the wastegate was hitting the bottom of the downpipe flange, so we opened it up to rotate the housing a bit

Horsing around heh

Wastegate, downpipe and all the turbo plumbing

Bolting together the exhaust, and figuring out the hangers

Agreed, wow is right... When you first started doing it, it seemed like a great project, but not that it's almost done I'm realizing exactly how much has changed. Looks great though... Can't wait to see how it looks/sounds when you get it on the road again.
