not sure if this belongs in the tuning forum or this one so if its in the wrong place im sorry.
i am finally getting ready to build this beast and was just wondering is the cobb DP that much better for the price or is it just as good as any other catted DP? i am getting the q300 exhaust so i figured getting the invidia catted downpipe would make sense so it would fit perfect for sure and its cheaper. im just wondering what the difference is between the bellmouth and the divorced wastegate DP? wich is better for a stage 2 setup? would cobb's stage 2 map support the invida DP?

I, too, would go with the invidia as the Cobb tapers to a 2.5" to accommodate the OEM and spt setup. So, in that sense, the Invidia is a better choice as it will be 3" continuous.
As for which design is better, it is really a negligible difference. The divorced dp is, in theory, supposed to allow a smoother flow at the Turbo outlet, as the gases straighten further down the pipe and away from the turbo where turbulence can be an issue. That being said, the Cobb dp is a great pipe and the bellmouth works just fine. Like I said, the difference is negligible. The route you're looking to go here is perfect and will work great with the Cobb ots maps, since that's where I assume you're going. Good luck and enjoy. |

1. Wrong forum
2. You have read exactly zero of the sticky threads. 3. You have not read 1000% of the Cobb documentation. 4. You are thinking of spending a grip on an engine management solution with a company and would rather ask someone one the internet vs. the company that makes it. |
