Wink Guess the car (very tricky ;-)) quiz

OK People, one that should tax you a little.

My second ever rally car, can you work out what it is?

Give you 3 clues, designed by the same designer as the Lotus Elan Mk1. Uses a 998cc race engine that revs to 11,500RPM (and no, its not a bike engine) and was built in 1972.

Question

Judging by the Fiat next to it, I'll guess a Lombardi/Otas/Fiat-Abarth of some sort.

Have a Nice Day?

Nope, miles out, though well spotted on the Fiat. It's British.

This was taken at the International Classic Car Show at the NEC, UK. I restored that from a bag of bits, and i mean BITS!

I'll have a go.. it's not a Triumph of some sort is it? A heavily modded TR-7 maybe?

Your correct Adrian128, its NOT a triumph.

OK, more clues.

It was the first ever Fibreglass monocoque vehicle ever built, it has NO steel chassis. 100% Glass Fibre (and kevlar now i've finished with it )

Cool

Here is a good clue for the Subaru Enthusiast out there.

Before he teamed up with Colin McRae, Derek Ringer used to rally one of these too!

Have a Nice Day?

Right kind of thinking Scooby South but nope.

It was a rival to the early TVR's and Lotus's. Cost more than an Elan actually.
