That GM Red Goop they use to seal transmissions seems to work pretty good for oil related sealing.

Finally had some time today to see if the oil leak was still around. Looks to be fixed. Cruised around for awhile to study the difference in 10mm pump vs the 12. My engine seemed to react much better to 10mm pump. Idle pressure was 5-7 psi less and it only took a few hundred more rpms to build 75-80 psi. Also the 12mm pump is known to drop off after around 6000 rpms around 10psi, this is because of the relief in the pump and the way these blocks are designed. They are not designed to take so much volume of oil so when the relief opens the oil tends to go that way instead of in the engine. I don't have any of these problems with 10mm pump. Pressure is 80psi all the way through 7500 rpms. And most importantly its not leaking any more.

is that all plug and play or will you have to chop up your car side harness at all? What limitations were you running into with the stock ecu and tuning?

no cutting, just need to find out if i have to run the avcs because of cam sensors as im non avcs with a single cam sensor. right now the stock ecu is hacked where the values limits are doubled but the resolution is cut in half.

Plenty more to come. We will use the new baseline software and hardware to show before and after results with whp/tq/quarter time/0-60 time/ etc.

Man i had a busy week........ I picked up two certifications in tuning.

1. EFI 101- Basic fuel injection and spark advance. Optimizing power or economy with fuel and spark on engine management systems, Speed density and mass air flow tables

2. EFI Advanced- High Horsepower fuel injection and spark advance. Finding best torque with spark advance. High compression, power adders, forced induction tuning. Standalone EMS tuning. Dyno tuning.

This was what i got my hours and practice on.
1990 Mitsubishi Galant VR4 (684/2000 made in 1990) Fully build up and down 2.3L and tranny with a GT42R, DMP headers and magnus manifold. on pump 92 it made 439HP at 19lbs. The owner had plumbing for nitrous wetshots direct individual port and has a goal of 900HP at around 40psi when he's done.

Nice job on the certifications Gabe. That Galant VR4 sounds like it would be a beast. Cool shot of the exhaust manifold on there too.

How were the classes? I have been thinking about something like that for a while now. Not that I am wanting to open shop but just to expand my knowledge. Sadly I am not yet broke in for the test/tune.

The classes were great it moves fast, but the hands on you get during the last couple days helps it all come together. I learned a lot about aspects that I thought I knew all about. And how important it is to have a solid electrical system on fuel injected cars. I could go on and on but I'll save it for later. Now I just need a few equipment pieces to get the ball rolling, but I can't even explain how excited I am to build my new maps for the hydra ems.
