Default Perrin turbo inlet hose

Well, I decided to install my new Perrin turbo inlet hose today. This was the first time that I have ever installed one before. The install is not that bad, took me 1 hour and 15 minutes. I do not believe that it can be installed in 37 minutes on a 2011 WRX. But, the performance is well worth the price. Turbo spools up faster and I have picked up a few more hp. Thanks Perrin for another great product.

Yeah I love mine but the stupid thing is killer to get in without someone to help you push pull.... took me over an hour also... this is without taking off the intake manifold...

I thought that it was funny when I got a quote from a shop for the install. They told me that it would take 3 hours and would be $95 per hour. Yeah, that motivated me to do it myself.

I think we're all in the same boat, I've had my stock one on and off a few times, the Perrin def took an hour and some change to get in all the way. I have a bigger turbo too which doesn't help much when it comes to getting it over the inlet or getting fingers between the turbo and intake manifold.

I installed my Perrin turbo inlet hose tonight. From pulling my car in, gathering tools, cleaning up and putting tools back and pulling my car out along with taking a couple of breaks, it took my 90 minutes.

It fit really quite good and I was impressed by the build quality. (Good job Perrin!)

Great fit and quality, I got a retune at the same time and spool is much quicker.

Did you need a protune after installing this?

Okay. I just didn't want to risk having the same issues as an untuned intake.

I've had my Perrin on for over six months now. It was an absolute PAIN to install. Took me a few hours to do but I am glad I did it. I am Cobb AP flashed stage one and I have had zero problems. I spoke with Chris at Perrin and you do not need a retune. The turbo is a little louder and I noticed The BPV is a little louder as well. A high quality part from Perrin!!!

Hello, the PCV valve with the sensor can be kept in place as long as the hose is still attached to it after the sensor where it plugs into the inlet. But you can take out the jumper pin with needle nose pliers, and insert that into the wiring harness and just bypass the whole plug. That way it would just be a hose going right into the inlet hose. Hope that helps!

I just installed one on my V9 engine and it is sooo tight. It rubs against the intake manifold, power steering pump and has a bung that was being pulled against the manifold. I was very surprised I have over 10 different products from Perrin including a rotated kit and everything else was awesome.

Thanks I just want clarification on things before I bypass stock sensors until I know it's not an issue.

Suprized that they haven't come out with a fitting that mimics the fitting on the OEM inlet instead of a barb fitting.

Same on my version 8. I assume the manifold has some small differences, and/or there is stuff that isn't there on the WRX, because it fit fine on my EJ205.

I also have one on my car. High quality material with excellent fitment.

I returned Gimmick inlet hose back to the vendor because of horrible fitment and purchased Perrin inlet instead.

Hello, it's normal for the inlet hose to be rubbing on things under the intake manifold, since the hose is quite a bit bigger than the factory inlet hose. It will be OK though, since it's made of thick silicone that is resistant to abrasion.

You guys do make some great stuff. I've had my inlet on for about 6 months now with zero problems. It's snug up against certain areas but thats never been an issue. Keep on keepin on you guys are great.

Awesome, you should make good power out of that new turbo and exhaust setup!
