Default Tomei M7960 vs M8265

I've decided that im going to go with one of the Tomei ARMS turbos. Not the old 7760, but the newer 7960 or 8265.

Has anyone had experience with either of these?

Im already aware of the supporting mods needed. Nothing internal though.

im taking mine to yimisport. i had my stage2 protune done there last year, and ive been extremely happy with it.

hopefully the newer M7960 satisfies my want for more power. i was really tempted to get the M8265.....but wanted to be realistic and conservative (think that mines R34 GTR tuner guy, lol)

ill keep you guys posted.

not yet. i have the turbo already, just haven't installed it yet. im working on getting my fuel system ready to support it. i noticed on their reviews a guy wasn't happy with its fitment on his 08. and apparently, since then, rallysportdirect lists it for 02-07 only.

it sure looks pretty though.

He should easily hit 350+whp with the 7960 on the 2.5L. My 2.0L EJ205 (non-avcs) with the 7760 makes 327whp on 91.

You'll make 10-15whp less with the factory exhaust manifolds (even when PnP) than going with an actual header, such as the Tomei EL.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the larger Tomei turbo's can do. Should be good.
