Default i still have a dog....

11 month old german shep. all black.

he's learned a few more commands since i've had him. completely house trained. all shots complete. friendly with other dogs.

I dunno. I have two stories, but I don't know what that translates to in time. Also I work 40 hours and the pup may be lonely. I might have to meet it.

Default A few misconceptions...

Ro, you need a dog. Cats have no credibility with chicks... Plus, you can meet girls while walking the dog.

Dog's don't get lonely while you're gone, unless you instill separation anxiety in them yourself by making a big fuss as you leave the house. As a man of leisure I've had the pleasure of hanging out with my dogs and cats (3 dogs, 2 cats) for days on end. For the most part they sleep all day. If I'm moving around they're with me and as soon as I stop or sit down they fall asleep. So don't worry about you're dog being alone. They can handle being by themselves in the house or apartment for up to 10 hours. And do not but another dog to keep the other company, buy another dog if YOU want another dog.

The size of your house or apartment should have no bearing on whether or not you can or cannot have a dog. Dogs are social animals and do not relish being outside in a yard alone, they would rather be with you, the alpha male/female. How many times have you put the dog out in the yard and all he does is stare at you through the window? As I said, dogs are extremely social and want to be around people (even Ro).

Socializing and dog and cat shouldn't be too difficult. You just keep whatever animal was there 1st as your prioity for a bit. Lavish attention on him, give him special treats and this will make him realize that the new animal is not a threat to his space and the food and treats will be the reinforcer. After an bit you can slowly back off the rewards.

If I can answer any questions, email me at home.

A dog/cat combo is absolutely no problem!! However, mean cat/nice dog or nice cat/mean dog or even worse mean cat/mean dog combo is of course going to be horrible.

If you have 2 nice pets they will more than likely get along just fine. I used to have a dog and upwards of 15 cats (on a ranch) and the dog would protect the nice cats and chase the mean cats off (the ones that fought all the time).

I liked the pup. If you can't find a home for it that you think is more suitable for it, I'll take it.

Dang your really a salesman for this dog but I think dogs do get lonely. Everyone always wants a buddy, who do you talk to when your all alone for all day. Plus if 1 year for humans is 7 dog years like they say, then 10 hours is actually 70 hours!!! Do you want to not talk to anyone for that long
