Default honestabe's 11' WRB WRX hatch: Feal | Enkei | Nameless | Invidia

Hey, after lurking for a while I purchased a new 2011 wrb wrx hatch in Feb this year. Big ups to Matt N @ Beyer Subaru! If you are in the area, the experience working with him was great, my first car purchase too. Ordered early January, came ~3 weeks later! The car was ordered bone stock, with all-weather mats.

It took a while, but I finally got around to improving the car. This forum has been really helpful in directing me how to go about changing the car to my liking. The Nameless exhaust and LatheWerks knob are extremely high quality pieces. I'm also very happy with my wheel+tire+suspension setup, although buying them all at once was pretty expensive. Just a couple more things to come, I'm very happy with the Stage 1 tune I have from Torqued Performance, I don't think I will go Stage 2+ until next year with more serious mods.

Updated improvements:
-Nameless catback exhaust
-Kartboy shifter and stay bushings
-Custom hybrid copolymer/SS WC LatheWerks knob
-Redline Goods Leather armrest cover
-The Retrofit Source (TRS) bi-xenon retrofit w/ OEM bulbs and ballasts
-IAG tails
-Seat Mod
-Swapped stock tires for ContiExtremeContact All Seasons when I first picked up the car
-Flapatax mudflaps
-Wheels: Enkei NT-03, 18x9.5 +40mm 5x100, Flat black
-Tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sports 265/35/18
-Feal 441 coilovers
-Torqued Performance Stage 2
-Invidia catted Downpipe
-AEM intake
-Anarchy Motive white shift knob
-Retrofitted headlights using RX330 AFS projectors w/ custom modded curved shields. Currently using Philips OEM bulbs and OEM Matsu Sti ballasts
-JNA CS style lip

As it sits right now (scroll down for more recent pics):

The car looks great Abe!! How is the light throw on the heads? Is it blinding to other drivers?

Thanks guys! The retrofit I did is pretty legit, meaning all the parts are OEM besides the projector housing and lens, they (I think) are TRS in-house designs.

Therefore the output is very good and the cutoff very sharp. It's output is comparable to TSX/TL/RDX's etc that I've driven by. The cutoff is sharp, as mentioned, because the kit comes with a clear lens. So like OEM setups, it won't blind others unless the road brings their eyes under the cutoff (ie if I drove downhill and they were at the bottom of the hill, or driving over a speed bump).

Oh, and since it's bixenon (the cutoff shield flips down via a small actuator), the HID + halogen high beams is ridiculously bright

besthaticouldo, I highly recommend the upgrade. The HUGE selling point is that the projector is a direct fit into 08+ headlights. The install required zero cutting.

Thanks! It may be annoying to older subie owners, but the wave to other wrx's/sti's is pretty cool

Annoying? I still wave to every Subie (well WRX/STi/2.5RS and some Legacy's)

My problem is I'm not always paying attention to other Subie's going in the opposite direction.. lol

Here's some pics of the shifter and armrest cover as well as more exterior shots. Also got a video of the exhaust here: http://flickr.com/gp/13868942@N00/46N81M

I picked up a Bluetooth OBDII reader that in conjunction with Torque, an Android app, shows me some useful information on my phone. I mostly use the Boost gauge and coolant temp. I haven't dug into how much more it can do.

(not my pic but mine is set up almost the same)

Small update: some new pics in the first post after a wash. Went Stage 1 through Torqued Performance a few weeks ago! Feels awesome, highly recommend tuning through Eric. Got some other plans in the works also..

Can't decide which wheels to get:

1) Rota Boost 18x9.5 35+
http://dudesphotography.smugmug.com/...5086&k=pwZnsLV

2) Rota D 18x9.5 40+
http://www.fastwrx.com/rotadforce.html

3)
Mach V Awesome 17x9 42+
http://www.fastwrx.com/mavawwh.html

Kinda concerned how heavy the first two are and how they are probably overkill for my setup. But the boosts look soo good..

Looks good so far, I'm working on a similar setup for mine.

As for the wheels, I really like the look of the D's but I didn't realize they would be that heavy. Personally I have some Rota G-Force's on order in gold.

Interesting. Mach V Awesome just took a jump forward in my book. Didn't realize they were so light. I wonder how close that Gunmetal is to the stock gunmetal.

Also very taken by these more expensive Enkeis and BBS:

1) RC-T4: 18x8.5 48+, <20lbs

2) OEM Sti BBS 08+: 18x8.5.. expensive, not the right bolt pattern..

3) RPF1: 18x9.5 +38 18.6 lbs

Out of your list, I'd go with the Awesomes.

Decisions, decisions. I think they look a little too subtle, though. Maybe they'll look better in black. Tires would be cheaper, they are super light, but I'm not sure they'll fill out the big fenders.

I got an oil change at Beyer the other day, didn't get to stop by to say hi.

Yea cost was the main driver for me also. Install took maybe 30min - 1hr because you do have to stretch it a bit to get it to fit, which is good because it means it sits nice and tight. I didn't use any glue or anything, just a slip-on fit. It feels so good also! Much better than the hard plastic of the stock armrest (I got the extra padding). The cover has lasted over a year and still looks great.
