Default Valet Mode + road driving?

Hey guys,

I just dropped my car off this morning to get quite a bit of body work done at a local shop due to hail damage. They will have the car for a few weeks. I was going to throw it into valet mode before leaving but I held off because the shop manager told me that they may need to drive the car to one of the hail dent repair shops if they can't get the repair tech to come to them.

While this kind of frustrated me as I didn't expect the car to leave their shop at all, I know they are reputable so I didn't want to hinder their ability to get the repairs done correctly and in a timely manner.

So my question is, would it be safe for me to flash the valet map on the car using the AP if they are going to be driving it on the road? I'm not sure if it will need to be on the highway or not during their commute to the dent repair shop.

The car is protuned with the AP and I have never tried flashing a realtime valet map before.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Only thing I would be worried about is if there is a max speed in that mode - in case its 25 or something. Try the map and take her out on some back roads, see how she reacts.

The valet map only cuts RPM to a certain point, so you can certainly still drive the car etc, you just can't get on it. It might be somewhat dicey driving on the freeway, but for the most part they should be able to drive it without issue on surface streets.

I've driven around with the Valet map on before. I had no problems driving it around town, it does not limit your speed at all. The only thing is you need to watch the RPMs when your merging onto the high way and cruising in 5th.

Makes for lots of fun at stop lights

You'll need to flash it as your base map. If you merely do a map change and the battery is pulled, it will revert to your normal tune.
