Default I pick this up in a week!!! First subie!!! :)

After looking around for a few months I finally made the switch! I got rid of my car and the only other car I could see myself driving was a subaru for some odd reason. Anyways, here she is, an 07 WRX wagon with 40,000 miles!!! I pick her up on the 10th, and then we're going on a road trip with her! I can't wait to go get it!
First things first:
Got a turbo timer right next to me ready to go in!
And window tint of course!

very nice - congrats on the new purchase!

I'm totally for the window tint.

Maybe instead of all those mechanical mods - go and get the driver mod 1st.

nice selection! Just an FYI however, I would return the turbo timer as Subaru has already stated that it is unnecessary in their cars.

Nice find ...

You don't need a turbo timer. Go read the stickys ... get to know the car before you do ANYTHING. Seriously, I thought I would need one as well before finding this site. Yes, there is a lot of reading involved but you will thank yourself later

Sell the turbo timer, & save for an Access Port ... or anything that your car actually needs.

Yeah, you're right, I should read more about the car before I do anything to it. I was just reading the "show us your unique mods" thread and saw a few people that had their turbo timers in hidden places so I assumed.

Yeah, I need to look up prices for Access Ports.

I know a decent amount about cars but if there is anything that I need to know or a sticky I need to read let me know! I'm trying to figure out how a v-limited lip will fit on the car and what springs I should get to lower it.... that is when the times comes.

You don't need an AccessPort to tune.

Off-the-shelf Cobb Maps, some tuners will only tune with an Accessport, Map switching (conveniently), monitoring engine parameters and clearing codes.

Please read Unabomber's Manifesto at the top of this forum.

pro's are super ease of use - trusted map - etc.
Cons are that specific hardware mods are expected for each map, so you can't really go nuts with "unique mods' using them - unless youhappen to have cobb tuning near where you are.

I believe the v-limited lip fits with small modifications. Theres a video I believe on youtube of a how-to install. As for springs, don't forgot you might wanna get some matching struts too. From my experience, Tanabe GF210 springs + KYB AGX struts were the perfect combo of function and form.

Nice find, sir. The more I see them the more I wish I would have bought a wagon. I picked up a used AP V1 in the classifieds here for about $100. Great bang for the buck. Noticeable power increase and it was really easy to install/uninstall.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I have read something about them before. A canned tune is what I call it. Thanks guys, I have always wanted a wagon! I was looking all over for one the looked at sedans and even chevy trucks... and, well, look where I ended up lol. I would love to find that video, I'm going to look now.
And turbonerdz, why do you say suspension first? Just curious.

Better suspension makes the car a lot more fun to drive in my opinion. The body roll on my car is ridiculous and really annoying. Like its been said before, research mods before you go off and buy something stupid and pointless.

As I'm sure others have told you, you don't need a turbo timer on an oil and water-cooled turbo.

As for springs, my vote goes to Epic Engineering!

I mean, this isn't my first turbo car, but I am still learning about subies. Mainly the drivetrain and suspension. I will check them out! Any shocks/ struts to reccomend? Btw, I would read about something before I do anything to my car so I know its not pointless or dumb, unlike most lol. I just had the turbo timer sitting around and thought... why the heck not.
