Default needs some help. ej22t build or swap?

I have a 94 ss subaru the car has 250,000 miles on it. Suprisingly ran good until it started ticking and had ridiculous amounts of blowby. Like the car would catch on fire from the amount of oil blowing out of the engine onto the exhaust.

So Now I have pulled the motor and dissasembled it. In the oil pan I found two oil squirters and a chunk of aluminum. So now I weigh my options.

1. Rebuild ej22t.
2. swap motor. My thoughts are a 2.5 dohc motor and just run low boost. Found 2.5rs sohc motor for 600 that I know nothing about.
3.put the ej18 motor on the ground in there and just run it til it dies.

My goal is to get a good fast car that get's decent gas mileage. Before I burn 3 grand into rebuilding the ej22t that will eat the 4eat.

There is a thousand different ways I could do it, but I'm having trouble finding a donor motor.

I wanna keep the supporting mods under a grand if possible. Just due to the fact the trans prolly can't hold it. Intercooler and turbo back exhaust. Gonna steal a plastic maf off a donor car.
