Default Ej20g to ej20k

Here is the deal I bought a 93 Subaru L with a full v2 sti swap later found out that it was a pile and literally blew a hole in the top of the block behind the altenater under the intake Man. But otherwise I have a ej20k replacement complete ready to go so if anyone That has some knowlede/experience with these turbo motors wants to make some $$ I live in Avondale and would like to have the car running ASAP seeing it's going to be my dd thanks

The fastest way would be to put the EJ20G intake manifold and accesories on the EJ20K longblock.

Everything will bolt up and the ECU should be fine.

If you want to run the EJ20K intake setup, then you will run into compatability problems with the throttlebody sensors and the EJ20G ECU. Unfortunately the throttlebodys won't simply swap between manifolds.

Why did the EJ20G throw a rod?

As RCT suggests... Easiest and trouble free.

Be careful not to break the EJ20K aswell, these engines do like to rev but the rod bolts cannot handle the stress...

Rod bolts? I believe you, but I haven't heard that issue before. Just the bearings.

The bearings go because the weak rod bolts increases bearing clearance and causing the bearings to wear out.

It could very well be that the broken motor of the topic starter also has thrown a rod due to a a sheared bolt.

Everything swaps over, just use the longblock. It really is not that hard if you have a few tools (and an engine hoist).
