The last stage is not yet over, but with most of the top guys done, this is how it looks:
1. 7 MAKINEN-MANNISE Mitsubishi A8 3h46'42"100 79.6 km/h 1 1 2. 3 SAINZ-MOYA Ford Focus A8 3h46'50"700 + 00'08"60 2 2 3. 1 GRÖNHOLM-RAUTIA Peugeot 206 A8 3h49'37"700 + 02'55"60 3 3 4. 5 BURNS-REID Subaru Impr A8 3h50'06"400 + 03'24"30 4 4 5. 17 DELECOUR-GRATAL Ford Focus A8 3h56'48"900 + 10'06"80 5 5 6. 10 McRAE-SENIOR Hyundai Acc A8 3h58'30"500 + 11'48"40 6 6 7. 9 ERIKSSON-PARMAN Hyundai Acc A8 4h00'14"600 + 13'32"50 7 7 8. 2 AURIOL-GIRAUDET Peugeot 206 A8 4h02'50"700 + 16'08"60 8 8 9. 25 LAUKKANEN-LINDS Toyota Coro A8 4h03'18"000 + 16'35"90 9 9 10. 27 HAGSTROM-GARDEM Toyota Coro A8 4h06'14"600 + 19'32"50 10 10 11. 24 MADEIRA-PRATA Ford Focus A8 4h08'34"300 + 21'52"20 11 11 Still not the great finnish from Subaru we are all waiting for, but better then the previous two! Plus, since Subaru finnished ahead of both the Skoda and Hyundai cars, it should boost us up there in the Manufacturer's Championship.I would have liked to see Carlos win. He had Tommi going into the last stage. Maybe everyone should run Group A cars ![]() Sucks for our other three guys(especially Markko since he was having another impressive drive), but that's rallying. Spain in two weeks!

Sorry, I havent been keeping up much.
Has the new chassis changed that much from the old? Besides chassis, what else has changed? They are using the same powerplant arent they? ITs only been 3 races, but It seems they are not producing desirable results. How were pre-season shakedowns? Any complaints from the drivers at all? |

Imprez, I believe under the skin, the new car is practically identical to the 2000. A few changes made here and there like turbo placement and such, but I don't think their problems so far have been from "new car bugs" so to speak. FWIW, Burns was pleased with the car during testing.
In Monte Carlo, Burns was sitting fourth after day 1 when his Impreza refused to start the next morning. So who knows what could have happened there. And in Sweden, if it wasn't for two very early mishaps from Burns and Martin, it could be argued that both would have made the podium. They were practically untouchable for the rest of the rally. Plus Solberg took 6th in one of his first WRC drives with the car. Things really aren't as bad as they seem. The wins will come. ![]() |

Hey, thanks for the info. I thought the car was the problem, because If I remember correctly, Burns usually starts strong in the Championship and kind of slows down until the Rally of GB which he normally wins. Last year anyways...
And BTW, do you know what happened to the Safari Rally? I thought it should have happend by now? One more question, wheres a good place I can get this information myself, instead of buggin you I remember a good one, but I cant remember its name. |

Rally-Live is one of the best sites out there: www.rally-live.com/en/ The Subaru World Rally Team site also covers the rallies pretty well: www.swrt.com
And the Safari got moved to sometime in July I think. You are right though, it is usually the third event in the Championship. |

Rally Live! thats it!
Thanks again Shik! And isnt it going to be a bit crazy moving the Safari event to the middle of the summer? Werent they having some heat problems even in the spring time? Or are the seasons different there? [This message has been edited by Imprez (edited March 11, 2001).] |

Is it possible not to have heat problems in Africa!
![]() Really not sure why they changed the line-up. I think I remember seeing something in Autosport a while back, but I'm not sure. Anyways, nice to see Burns in the points. As he said on SWRT, he's been in much worse positions before and he'd come back. Still pretty early though, but a win or even a few podiums would do alot of good. Spain should be interesting. |

Not to be doofus or anything but some folks here get pissed when you put a "spoiler" in the title. Just put "Final Portugal results" or something. I learned the hard way.

uhh....Jaybird I don't think Shik gave away any drama here. The only battle was between Tommi and Carlos which he posted the result of. Noone was anywhere near beating them.
