Question Who will win Cherokee Trails ?? "Weigh in"

I'm going long shot, Garen Shrader in his EVO IV. Many others may beat them self's to give him this spot ?, LOOK out for John Kemp he will be in the top 5 in his old Audi 4000 Quattro Too. RALLY ON /////

But really, I think you'll see a lot of what happened at STPR last year. It's an incredibly strong field, and the top 20 drivers realizing that they'll have to push just a little bit harder to beat the competition. The result: a ton of DNFs. "Another EVO in the trees" Daphne would call as we drove by...

Plus it's an "unknown" area, different terrain and soils than most of the other rallies in this country. It's gonna catch some guys unawares. I ride motorcycles in that area fairly often, people from all over the country come near there to ride. And I've seen a lot of "flatlanders" get hung out to dry. It's not to far away from where Eric Rudolph is from, small mountains compared to out West, but very rugged.

Grim - Karl FINALLY sold that car. He's running a Grp. N Prodrive Impreza this year.

I'm thinking Mark Lovell, Paul Choiushentheberrehre, or Jon Bogert

Haha Karl is a great driver but he sold the Beetle after newbie Pete Winkelman (DAUTHI) beat him in a Rallycross. It was stock RS with GC coilovers VS. Rally Beetle in full ProRally trim. RS 1, Beetle 0. Hehe. Karl traded in for a Subie.

Ok, it wasn't as simple as that, Karl had already bought the Subaru before he ran the Rallycross, but I guess my BS logic still applies for the purposes of bench racing.

Link to the results PDF here:
http://www.flr-scca.com/rally/2000/rc11-12-2000.pdf

Karl Scheible in Rally Beetle : 5.94, 5th overall

Pete Winkelman in Subaru RS : 5.92, 4th overall

All that being said, I'll be rooting for Karl (among others) at the rally. Go Scheible!

Jamie, Paul's too big of a rally star to break his own engine in. He's gonna have one of us crew do it for him Wed. night.

Hehehehehehe.

And I'm pretty sure I just lost any chance of it being me.

I too predict a lot of DNFs to offroad. I codrove Cherokee last year and while there are not many crest, no yumps and very few if any junctions, the road surface of ball bearing size gravel which made it quite slick. Plus, many teams will be using pacenotes for the first time. Jon B. was correct about the Evo junkyard at STPR.
My prediction is Lovell, Buffam, Tuthill.
Too bad McGeer and Sprongls did not enter.
