Hey everyone,

My name is Will and this is my 2005 CGM STI. I have owned a total of three Subaru's since 2005, included my most recent STI. The first was a 2003 PSM Subaru WRX and the second a 2005 OBP Subaru STI. I sold my OBP STI to purchase a Lotus Exige S and regretted it ever since, so i sold the Lotus and bought myself my dream STI (05 CGM). I have big plans for 2014 as I prepare my STI to compete regionally in the SCCA ASP autocross class. I am hoping to find time and funds to jump on a couple HPDE events in-between the autocross events. Please feel free to comment, give suggestions, etc.

Thanks! If i was going to drive a hamster car, i was damn sure i was going to make it look good.

Just clocked over 59k when i bought it. 2 owner, CA car. All tuned and modified by a well known tuner here in Norcal for only about 5k miles. Couldnt have asked for a nicer car, the guys before me took really good care of it.

2007 Lotus Exige S

This was my last "race car" that the STI replaced. Yes I know call me crazy. Honestly, i am so much happier being back in an STI. I sold my old 05 OBP STI, bought this Lotus, then sold it to buy my current CGM STI. The Lotus was amazing but belongs on a track and i just couldnt do it at that time.

- Larini Exhaust
- Larini High Flow Cat
- Team Dynamic's 17x8.5
- Touring Package
- Track Package
- Pioneer Flip Out
- And a basket of problems

Havent had anytime to get to the belt squeak but i was finally able to put my Kartboy rear endlinks on. They are way more heavy duty then the stock links and they dont have that play in them like the stock ones do. Havent had a chance to drive on them yet but once i do i bet i will be happy with them.

Here is a picture to compare the stock 05 STI endlinks to the Kartboy endlinks.

Obviously since it is near impossible to get a S203 front lip and its way too expensive if you ever do find one and the 07 STI Limited front lips wont fit on an 05 STI i needed to find a way to get the same look for my car. I know they make the replica S203 lips but its just not the same without the STI V-limited badge. They are hard as **** to find but i remembered a long time ago i bought some from fastwrx.com but they didnt have them anymore. After a long search i finally found them!

Here is a picture of a real one, I'd say its a pretty damn good replica!

O and a teaser pic of something i am working on that will be on the car soon

SYMS Rear Wing

So i was able to find a SYMS rear wing that i have always wanted! What was nice, was that it was even painted CGM already. The color seems a little darker then my factory paint but hey, beggars cant be choosers. I will need my fender flares painted once they come in so i will probably have the wing ends painted as well.

The SYMS wing is definitely lighter then the factory STI wing and the "wing" portion is a lot stiffer and doesnt get the wobble at high speeds. I have an autocross on the 28th and can report pack how the downforce is (if i can even tell a difference). Here is a comparison of the two wings:

And some pictures of the new wing installed:

The new Kartboy endlinks are definitely an improvement over the stock STI endlinks. Rear end feels a lot more rigid.

Also the wing definitely makes the rear end feel more planted at higher speed turns.

Very happy with both upgrades.

So what sort of issues did you have with the lotus? Just curious, always thought with the simplicity of them they'd be pretty bullet proof. Nice Sti reguardless!

Some minor, some major. There was no way for my girlfriend to get in and out of it in a "lady like" way. It gets tiring falling into it and climbing back out of it. I always worried about it getting scratched when i drove around. The oil coolers are notorious for breaking/leaking (which was my devil). And owning a $45k car that is very limited in what it can do is silly for someone my age and with my life style (snowboarding, mountain biking, camping, etc).

Got my new replica S203 front lip installed. I tried a new manufacturer this time and i massively regret it. The lip did not fit at all, luckily it was polyurethane so it was malleable and stretchable so i was able to stretch it and mount it. I haven't had time to get the STI V-Limited badge on it yet but will soon.

The reason i didnt have time to put my badge on was because i needed to get to Sacramento Raceway so i could attend a Mustang meet with my brother.

Here is a picture of my Subi and my brothers Mustang
