Post Rally Tires / D.O.T Aprov. ?

I have seen the Kuhmo D.O.T apov. rally tires anyone have a review on these also is there other brands that can take some street use unlike michelins? I have heard someone running bfgoodrich rally tires for street and rally events but I never knew they made a rally tire anyone have a link and/or dealer?
Thanks,

B.F.Goodrich never made rally tires. However, in the early to mid 1980's they made their All-Terrain and Mud-Terrain T/A tires in sizes to fit cars (ie: to fit 13" and 14" wheels) and they supported the SCCA ProRally series. They were as widely used in U.S. rallying as Michelins are today. In fact John Buffum used them on his Audi Quattro in Europe and was running as high as 3rd overall on the 1984 RAC rally before he went off into a bog.

I doubt you'd be able to find any of those old B.F. Goodrich tires anymore, they quit making them.

Any rally tire thats worth a damn isn't going to last long for daily street driving. And most of them aren't DOT approved. Which is ironic because for years the ProRally rules requires DOT approved tires. That requirement was mysteriously dropped back when Michelin was the series sponsor...

Don't you want a "sharp" edge for rally tires??? Driving them on the street will round those edges quickly.

exactly... once you rub in or soften the edges, basically rally tires are good for rallycross and not much else!!!

get the non DOT approved... they'll do you much better!
