When I get back to VA and my car, I'll go to one of the meets and ask this one chick if I can check the fitment on her base 2011, and I'll snap a couple pics. The pics on Mach Vs page are in the 2011's from what I understand. Only thing wierd about the fitment is that is supposed to fit over that hard wire cover that runs down to the rearview. It needs a notch cut out for that it seems but everything else looks fine. Regardless, I'll give you a better heads up on it once I'm back home. Could be a week or 2, so hope your not in TOO crazy of a rush to get the gauges in.

Thanks Greg. I think I'll be okay and can wait for you to get back to me on some pics. I appreciate it.

Jdub, it looks like getting into the oil pan is a bit of work compared to what I thought would be easy, drain the engine, unscrew a few bolts, swap pick ups and rebolt everything back. Killer B's instructions show several more steps that make this probably not a 30 min DIY. I'll check.

Next Friday will be when I pick up my block from Bertune. The gaskets that I ordered won't get to him until September 6th. I was thinking of wrapping it in some kind of heavy duty plastic wrap for storage. Anyone know where I can get some? Home Depot maybe?

Home depot or lowes would be where I would go. Or an industrial cooking store if you have one of those.

You could do it yourself but it could get messy lol. Or pay and have someone else get dirty.

If you do, it looks like it needs some cutting down to work with sunroof control box, which I'll be doing sometime after I'm back in VA.
Do a search on the gauges faq. There is a sensor location on the block that I think is a better location for the oil pressure sensor. It is a lot better than adding in another piece of equipment that can fail.

Also for a gauge location. This:http://www.smyclustermaker.com/ It by far has the best location and is stock looking. I've had some people at the dealership think it is a performance option.

Been there, done that sparky. I already am planning on putting the pressure sensor in one of the top locations, but for the temp sender, it it best to have in a location that the oil is in constant contact with. Do you even know hat the sandwich plate is? It really doesn't like you do. Do a search for it.

As for the SMY clustermaker, if you actually had read this thread, you would see that Jockey already has one.

^Lol. I got home and took a few pics holding the gauge mount up against the inside of the cars roof and it fits clean. I'll pop them up tomorrow or later tonight. Is your headlining flat all the way across the front of the roof? If so, I'll say it'll look good, just like the pics mach v has up on that link. You can enlarge the pics they have by clicking on them, fyi. I'll still try to get a pic or two, holding it up in a WRX without the moon-roof, though I'm still inclined to say that the car they have it in on Mach V is a WRX/ STi.

EDIT: Just double checked their pics, and yep, it's a WRX or an STi (can't see the badging).

I can't confirm the headliner of my car right now since it is at the dealership. I really hope they are done tomorrow. I can't take driving these other cars anymore.

STi ll no car. THey are working on it and had to order more parts yesterday. I don't want them to rush and mess it up but I'm itching for my car. I made sure that they are not taking out my Dom, hopefully they don't swap out any other parts that I have installed, i.e. fuel injectors, spark plugs.

Can't wait to see the shopping list of parts that they bought.

No not yet. I will. I have time since I have to go through the the break in period anyways.

Just got the call and they will not be finishing the car today. Looks like they will resume working on Tuesday. The mechanic is off tomorrow and then the holiday.

Better done late than done wrong :..(...

The fourteen thousand welds in that curved piece of tube. Seems like a lot of unnecessary work.

I think this car was still in the build process. I have no idea what their reasons where for what they did. I just thought it was neat to see such a torn down STI in person.

if its a stripped car, perhaps it doesnt have boost assisted brakes and the MC's are inside the vehicle and you just can't see them.

One more day. They found a small leak and needed to order another part this morning. Should be done by mid morning tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Hey, Jockey, no luck on getting the pics for you. Some ricer ass civic tried running from the police at the meet, so it's been cancelled permanently. I'd say hit up Mach V on here and ask them for a couple pics. Or just buy it, since it's only 60 bucks right now. I'll rate the quality compared to thy SMY cluster-maker. The SMY is a 9/10, I'd give the over the head mount a solid 8/10, 7/10 if you have any wires to your rearview mirror, since it'll require a little work to get the fit perfect.
