The reason I added the blackwood is, if you ask most car people what it was, they'd tilt their head to the side and say "huh?" certainly a large majority wouldn't even be able to guess it was a Lincoln, and even fewer would guess it was a truck. go to the streets of LA like Jay Leno, and ask normal people what the blackwood is, I doubt anyone would even have a clue.

The truck was not just poorly marketed, but a carpeted bed? really?

, like I said...If you like it, I don't like you.

wasn't it carpeted with stupid storage containers on the sides so the usable space inside the bed was about 44 millimeters wide?

Baja lover here. Can't beat the utility, performance (with turbo), and fuel economy.

Then again, you could also make a case that there are plenty of 'vette buyers that want the performance, but surely don't "tear up the asphalt" on a regular basis. You know, the whole "it's cool to know that I can do it, even though I don't want to do it" mentality.

Reference any of the dozens of thousands of elderly men that typically own Corvettes as examples.

Stupid list is stupid. Author obviously has no idea what "design" means.

To be clear, I'd prefer a vette too. In fact, there aren't too many cars north of 50,000 that I'd take a vette over anyway. I'm just saying that the SSR had more to offer than it gets credit for. As long as it's performance based, you're right. Once you go to different expected experiences, they each fill different needs for the person on the weekend cruise up the coast.

, and I still think it's beautiful.
and i still stand by that last part.

A LGT with a trailer hitch beats it handily on all fronts.

and I counter by referencing every single person who does 'hella flush' to their daily driver.

a mod that is done specifically to make it 'look better', but offers absolutely 0 performance ability, and most times makes the car handle worse.

then we can look at the people rollin' on 22s.

should I keep going?

I find this funny since I have been trying to talk my roommate into a Subaru Baja. She drives a basic 1995 4cy 2WD tacoma that needs a lot of visual TLC. She wants the comfort of a car but loves her truck bed. Best of both worlds would be a Baja. She absolutely hates the looks of the Baja. Almost talked her into a Subaru Legacy or a Forester. She needs a new car sometime in the near future. She does like the HSV Maloo but they don't make them in the US.

Boy the new Lincoln wagon suv thingy is ugly. The back end and front for that matter are just herendous. It looks cheap too. It has a wierd crease up the back tail gate. I am not sure what it is called. I saw one at the store, I tried to find a picture on Edmunds but I can not find it. Maybe it is a 2012 or something.

Have you shown her a two tone, or monochrome Baja?

The Monochrome Bajas look better. The black ones almost fully disguised. Still should have come with a 3.0 engine, though. If they would learn from their mistakes and sell a new Forester based SUT, it should naturally have a Boxer Turbo Diesel, and 6MT, like the over-seas Foresters.
