Angry contacting SOC

just brushed up on their site, no e-mail addy or anything i can send my complaint too...everything in a nutshell...my knock sensor just went..the dealer just warrantied it but told me that the next time any sensor in the engine goes..it won't be covered. the motor sports a pdm intake that gets removed before any work gets done. the car is only 2.5 yrs old but has over 65000kms on it. doesn't the car have a 5yr 100000km powertrain warranty on it? so why does a sensor located in the motor only have a 3yr 60 k on it. from what the dealership told me..."not all sensors are covered under the 5 yr warranty" ...bull..shieeeeeet

I know for a fact that the dealership has an email with Subaru. Perhaps they could give it to you. If not then I guess you'll have too do it the old fashion way, at which time you can ask them for an email.

Well we know that they're in Mississauga, so call 411 and ask for Subaru Canada in that town. They must have a phone number...

I am pretty sure that your dealer was right in saying that your sensors are no longer a warranty item after the 3/60k. As I understand it only the mechanical operation of your drivetrain is covered for 5/100k. If you want to complain about any warranty related issues. Reid Thorburn is the man you are looking to speak with. He is very good to deal with and is very prompt returing calls. I have personally had lenghty conversations with him regarding warranty issues and a dealership. He even called the dealer on my behalf, which seemed to light a fire under their A$$.

I have the phone number for SOC somewhere @ home. I will look this evening and post it here if I can find it. You r dealership should be able to provide you with the number. If all else fails try finding the main phone number for SOC and Ask the receptionist for "Reid Thorburn" I have had sucess getting in touch with him that way.

Good Luck,
Chad

Send them a fax with your letter. When I did, they got back to me within two or three days.

Do a search for SOC complaints. Reid Thorburn is powerless and will feed you a company line and tell you that dealers are franchised, and other such BS. I talked to him at length and he is useless. There is no e-mail address cuz they don't want to hear from you. The only thing you can do is complain. I believe Reid had something to do with closing Brokeville Stupidroo and revoking their franchise because of all the complaints. But the Subaru owners that had their cars trashed by retarded monkey mechanics there got nothing. Good luck.
