We're talking about acceleration. That means tested, measured acceleration, and not what your butt dyno is registering

Either way I should edit my previous statement and add that the 335d feels slightly slower than the 335i and considerably faster than the 328i. Something the numbers don't really show unless you look at top gear pulls.
Yes, yes I have. Current BMW owner here too, with a months worth of time in a 328 loaner and a few minutes in a 335d. The 335d surely felt much much faster than the 328, and even faster than my E46 M or a 335 a times, especially at tip-on, but that's not what you stated.

Did I not specifically state the 335d feels faster than it really is by virtue of its low/mid power?

Moreover, and again, your impressions or your perception (or mine for that matter) is not what matters in the context of comparing performance. Measured, actual performance matters.

That being said, I also think that feeling faster is probably more important than actually being faster (as who are we kidding, it's about driver enjoyment).

But for you to attempt to correct my initial post with such a flat-out lie (that the 335d is much faster than a 328 and only slightly slower than a 335)...

Yeah...that didn't come across as an owner blatantly ignoring the facts to defend his car...not at all.

I haven't test driven the new '12 328i yet. We were discussing the previous 328 with the NA I6 motor.

I truly didn't sit here and spend time googling specs and outlining them as if I was turning in homework. I assumed the car was much faster than a 328i I6, as most people would after driving it, because it sure feels that way.
It looks like you agree with this, so why make such a big fuss about the numbers? Are you a lawyer?

You guys are saying the exact same thing and talking past one another.

This is why turbo diesels make great daily drivers and an S2000's power band is more suited to a race track...

We're not talking past one another.

He changed what he said after he was shown to be completely incorrect.
