More info, just one panel?
Original paint? You can get a paint cleaner from your local auto zone or walmart which will bring back some of the color and this can be done by hand. A machine polishing would work better but need more info on to what the real condition is. |

that's happening to my car underneath the weather stripping on the front and rear doors and on my front fenders in the groove. I figure its just from wear and more than likely needs to be refinished. If it's not a show car I'd say leave it as its probably going to wear again unless it was already resprayed by a cheap shop.

Honestly I would have it wet sanded followed by a compound then polish. It will help level the surface with all the rock chips and also bring back the color and depth. Problem could be though that your working with edges so the paint is thinner so caution needs to be used.
Will it be 100%? No It will however look better. |
