Question Logging with Prosport UEGO

Just wondering if anyone else has this prosport wideband (http://prosportgauges.com/wideband-a...ber/White.aspx) and is able to log with it and how their setup looks. After searching the only UEGO adaptor I can find is this one (http://storefront.bustedfingermotors...&products_id=2) and I'm not sure if it is AEM specific or not.

Thanks for the insight.

Unless that wideband has a serial output (which it doesn't appear that it does), that BFM adapter cable won't work with it. I think there is a way to use an analog input with a Tactrix, but I'm not positive. I suppose that you could find some type of analog to digital converter that has a serial output that you could then log with, but that seems like a headache.

A contact from prosport informed me that the bustedfinger device should work.

That what the cables look like coming from the UEGO controller that should feed to some connector then to the laptop. I don't know what a serial output is.

Hey NoGraffix, were you able to datalog with your Prosport Uego Controller? I'm about to install my gauges and have the same question regarding the connection from the Uego Controller to the laptop. I'm assuming the AccessTuner Race software will be able to utilize the info from the controller, but haven't found any good info about the type of cables to connect the 3 wire analog connection to yet. Thanks.

Bump! I just picked one of these up. I'd like to know how to hook up the 3 wire plug to datalog!

Update: Just spoke to a Prosport rep. Black is ground, Brown is 5V signal.
This may possibly work. I wouldn't see why not...

I got the bfm cable and wired it all up but I cannot get the drivers that bfm has available on the web page to work. Anyone have any ideas on how to get these drivers working? I'm following the instructions on the web page exactly, but when I get to the point to search for the drivers in the designated folder, but the system is unable to find the necessary software to install the drivers.

Did anyone get this working? I made my own cable, bought a FTDI Chip Serial to USB Cable, but no information is showing up in hyperterminal on the laptop. I've verified voltage information is making it to the wires soldered to the female DB9 port 2 and 5. I then stuck 2 paper clips in the female db9 end into ports 2 and 5 and also see the same voltage information. My thought on this is that the prosport uego controller is sending analog information and I don't think the DB9 to USB cable is going to convert the analog information to digital, could be wrong though. If that's the case, I don't see how you can get this to work through their analog output using this type of setup. Prosport sells the same cable (http://prosportgauges.com/wideband-a...ink-cable.aspx) and this is what they state on that page "All you have to do is mount the plug in port and splice one wire to the output signal wire (green to Brown) and the other to Ground and you are ready to log." Based on the picture on that page one wire is blue and the other one looks to be brown, so does that mean they want you to splice the output green wire that goes to the gauge and not from the analog output? Maybe the gauge is being sent digital information to display and you can tap into that wire to get the data? I've sent them an email about it earlier in the week, but haven't heard back from them. Just my thoughts.

Here's the reply I received from them today: "Our datalog output signal is made for the cars computer, meaning they have to be wired into the computer for the data logging. They're not able to be data logged through a serial/USB cable."

Looks like the same answer that NoGraffix got. I wonder what type of information is being sent to the guage (digital or analog)? If the gauge is being sent digital information, wonder if you could tap the gauge wire to get the data?

There are two wires for datalogging on the gauge. I don't have he information in front of me at the moment but I know what one is.wideband and the other is narrow band(oem style o2 output). I've been slacking on my project but ill post soon.

You guys shouldnt be having these problems setting up wideband datalogging.

In hyperterminal you need to make sure that your data settings are correct.

Bits Per Second: 9600
Data Bits : 8
Parity: none
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control : Hardware

This is how it is shown in the AEM user manual.

Based off what is written in the AEM manual, the serial output is used on the 0-1v wire. The datalogging I do in my cobra is running the 0-5v wire, and I had to set my transfer function in my laptop tuning software. The Cobb AccessTUNER Race software allows for a seperate USB input for a wideband, and can be set in the software itself. I have not dealt enough witht he romraider software to give you a really good "how to" on setting up your wideband in the subaru... However I will be working on it this week.

I just bought premium gauges (amber/white pointer) boost/wideband due to the fact that these match up to the oem cluster the best. I hope the wideband can be datalogged with the cobb access tuner otherwise I just wasted some money =T . "subscribed"

Black94Snake, AEM outputs the information in a serial format which is digital information, the EVO UEGO controller only outputs information in Analog format which would need to be converted to digital information for a laptop to log it. I wish it was an AEM serial output, I would already have data then. Thanks for the info though.

Prosport lists their WB as having a 0-1v output.

Black94Snake, you are referencing the Premium Series gauge. We were trying to get the EVO Series gauge to datalog. Here is the information from their instruction manual:
BLACK ENGINE GROUND
BROWN WIDE BAND ANALOG OUTPUT 0-5V (0V  10AFR, 5V  20AFR)
GREEN NARROW BAND ANALOG OUTPUT 0-1V (0V  20AFR, 1V  10AFR)

Also, here's the link to their install instructions:
http://prosportgauges.com/instructio...vowideband.pdf

Unfortunately, the wideband wire which is sending out the 0-5 volt signal is analog information not digital, so you can't datalog it with a laptop unless you can convert the analog signal to digital information.
