I like being creative with my car so I ended up painting my dash after a failed cheapo fake silver carbon wrap. I think its more classy than a sticker bomb
![]() The silver swoops are really metallic in the sun btw. Let me hear what you think For future reference there was no tape involved. all imperfections were meant to be there. Read the thread. ![]() ![]()

Hmm not bad looking.
You got a little Jesus juice on your dash though. |

Not digging it. If they were no run-offs/imperfections from removing the tape, it would look a little better. Overall, great idea.
Did you put a top coat of clear coat on top your paint job? I'm just wondering because due time, your paint job will flake off. |

I like it, even if it does look like Jackson Pollock had a fairly productive night out at the clubs.

Definitely original! I'm brand new to this board and it's amazing how people did not jump on the hate wagon immediately about how the dash should be left alone.

There are things on a car that should just not be painted, and to me, the dash is one of them. But on those rare occasions, some people actually make mistakes that break that rule. Nice job..... this time.....

I like it, definitely unique. The run offs almost kinda add to the effect and make it look a little smoother than just all the sharp edges and paint lines. If you ever redo it and dont want the runoffs take a heatgun to the tape before you paint and then firmly press every inch down, it'll help all the edges stick and prevent paint from seeping under.

thanks! Ok just to let everyone know those arent run offs and they were done on purpose. There is no taping invloved here, the trick is actually dish soap and layers of paint. Yes you heard correctly dish soap. lol
and yes there are 3 clear coats over it |

I had a similar idea but instead of solid grey back it would be black with red streaks.
IMO came out nicely. |

I clicked on this thread expecting to find some cheap ricer painted to match the exterior half-ass job, but I gotta say that I am thoroughly impressed by the quality and originality of it. I'm still no fan of painted interiors, but at least you have something no one else has.
