A new teaser video is out from General Motors’ Cadillac luxury brand. Since Cadillac has been seeing some great success from their latest cars, Cadillac’s pursuit to continue fighting with the top dogs has yet to cease.
. In the video, you can see a new CTS-V powering around a closed race circuit. It’s competing track mate: a Ferrari 458 Italia. The new ad spot clearly suggests that Cadillac is aiming directly for Ferrari. As to what comes from these efforts, is still to be determined.

They should have said, "perfected in the Ferrari 458." Ads like that are just offensive.

okay, if you don't have the funds nor the desire to own the 556hp version, what exciting product do they have as the next step down? nothing? oh well....

What a stupid ad on a number of accounts.
#1. If you can afford a Ferrari, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't even consider a lowly CTS-V. #2. "New standard of the world"? Please...... #3. If you look at the numbers, these cars aren't even remotely close. Way to skew the facts, GM. |

Caddy's merely pointing out that Ferrari is incorporating technologies pioneered by Cadillac. It's an ad intended to showcase engineering, and not trying to demonstrate a throwdown between the two cars. It's actually a good ad if you pay attention. |

Wasn't this suspension actually pioneered by Corvette?
Anyway, I think they aren't comparing the Cadillac to the 456 directly (that's the Vette's job), but that the Caddy is actually rather sophisticated, not the lump of steel that people may think. |

I also remember the Corvette being the first with that technology, I guess I will have to do a google search.

Pretty sure MRC came on some anniversary edition of the C5 at the very end of it's life. 50th anniversary maybe?

MRC is not even a GM invention or innovation. It belongs to Delphi I believe, and it was designed when Delphi were separate from GM. Anyone can license the technology.

Yes Delphi developed it, can license it to anyone, and has. But the Corvette was the first with it, and it was only 4 years after GM spun off Delphi. I'm sure there was some engineering back and forth, and it's production was pioneered in the vette. You make it sound like GM found them on a shelf in Pep Boys and bolted them in.

I believe the XLR had them before the vette.
Any before that even, I think Mercedes had something very similar. |

"Whoa, Caddys are Fastar than Ferraris now!?! I need another Milwaukee's Best Light!" |

2. A little marketing spin sure, by CTS-V is arguably as good as any other sport sedan in the word (at least under 150 K). 3. When did they say the cars had similar performance specs? |

The ad is factual? Exactly how did Ferrari "borrow technology from Cadillac?"

Borrowed technolgy from cadilac is a bit of a marketing stretch of course but pioneered by cadilac is pretty factual.
