Default NEED HELP auto to manual swap 02 wrx

i have a 02 wrx and i spun a rod, long story short i picked up a whole parts car that was totaled in the front. its manual and the car is complete, i am not worried about the time it will take nor the cost, what is the easiest was to go about this. are the holes already there for the pedals, shift linkage, any cutting on chassis, or is it a simple bolt together swap ecu and wiring harness?? thanks for the help

Mechanical part is easy. Everything bolts in. Wiring can be a pain.

so you blew the motor in your car, then bought another car that has been totaled in the front, which very possibly includes engine damage, but you also want to swap transmissions? So you bought a whole car, just to swap transmissions? This is extremely confusing. Long story short, bugeyes are a dime a dozen. sell them both and buy a manual.

1....you dont cut and splice subaru harnesses.
2....removal of the dash makes installation alot easier
3....the ecu isnt the same for 4eat/5 speed transmissions
4....good luck

I would swap the vehicle harness from the donor car. No guesswork. Everything will work as designed.

Sorry EJ20T, just need to clear up your post really quick, perhaps you knew it but weren't being specific.

1) Yes you do, just not necessary in his case.
2) This is necessary to replace your auto harness with the MT harness
3) Yes it is. Just a different ROM flashed into it. Since you have it just swap it over unless your ecu is flashed, then depending on what you have you'll need to do some further tuning.
4)

Rexxless, swap over the entire dash and related engine harnesses etc and you will be fine.
