Jr what fuel pump is in the car? You maxing those 1300's at 24psi?

I just did a DW1100 + DW300 + gt3076 @ 11.5 AFR and it was at 100% idc at 20psi.
Said ride was on 93, therefore my question. Faster, sure; but did you have to wait for it longer?

Figued the pump was either a DW or an aeromotive, OR a FPR to bump pressure.

Lucky for me I get to tune tons of different setups. I take notes and remember things that standout as well as things we try on friends cars etc. This was one of those setups that I always wanted to try, and had the turbo sitting here so I got to do a A / B comparison to put my "theory" to rest. It worked

I'm not a numbers kinda of person.. Just because it looks good on paper, doesn't mean it will work that way. I like the trial/error and real world testing. Most of my setups are just giant melting pots of things I have tried or tested.

I have a the track map which I didnt get to use because I got the boot after the first pass. It runs 27-28psi and a little more aggressive. Maybe 75whp more

Should it be faster? Jake and I took it out on the 93 map with 20psi. The truck was 3560 with just me in it, now add jake who is probably around 190-200lbs and we are near 3800lbs. Should it still feel faster?

I have the P&L fuel kit on my car. It is an aeromotive 340, 1300s and reg setup. I loose confidence in the fuel pump around 27-28psi

Once I pop this stock motor I am doing a fic1650/twin pump setup on the high compression built motor. I'm just looking for a solid 600whp/600tq and low 10s.

lol...jake 190 lbs....did you finish a cycle of p90x or something?

I thought jake was talking your e85 hta82 v his gt30 on race gas.

seems like the 340's are definately doing better than the 300's.

Well crap, I guess I have to try for 10s on Friday now as well... I can't let you beat me to it, can I? Edit: I now discover it is supposed to rain Friday

Junior: do you have a usable log or dyno plot? Trying to figure out what you'd be making at P&L/airboy verses your traps, but I'm confused because it's all on a stock longblock...
35r and stock motor has and will happen. The stock motor is really no slouch. ... I remember back in the day every did it, and making 500-550 on a stock motor was not a big deal. Somewhere along the line in the endless sea of "bolt on big turbos" that create tons of back pressure and blow up motor everyone has become scared.

****ty video, but that is e85 at 23-24psi 4th gear. Watch it swing to full boost right around 3800-4000 rpm and then it just keeps on trucking.

I don't have any usable logs and because I run a tmic with a big turbo I don't dyno it. The last dyno plot I have was with the 30r at 24-25psi.

I know it's not fair, ej255(edit: or is it a 257 in the Foresters? I have no idea) vs ej205. 35R vs a Green. Insanely well known tuner vs self tuned. E85 vs 100 octane.

I still want to try

I don't know about 3200 lbs at most, I'm 280 alone + 6 speed weight. I really should get it weighed. Not all of us can fit in a suitcase .

I'm in for import wars, just hoping it isn't another case of "be there the entire day to get 2-3 runs" as it has been like the last time I went.

Why don't you just gut the thing and make this completely lopsided .

I follow why you would do that though, makes sense to me.

Na, I can't ruin this one. It is to perfect of a street car. The motor is just insurance that I would be left walking 950 miles or flying home.

i should be updating my thread, but i feel like i am in a professional set of hands at d & f performance.

new oem 08 sti nitrated crank delivered today. new cosworth ring set and c clips from rallispec on friday. new sti rod bolts for sti rods on saturday. acl bearings and blueprinted shortblock early next week.

karlknaupp is offering me his rotated perrin front mount kit since he's gonna be down for a lil bit. i am running on flat pockets so e85 upgrades are not gonna happen for etown. im gonna have to whip you on c16.

the only thing not locked down is the most important part...the tune.

i say whip you quite loosely, cause your not really loosing if i beat you on your own tune!!!

its been brought to my attention that attempting to push 500whp on stock sti rods, will spell out rebuild. i am thinking proper tune will carry sti rods through, since their true power rating is not etched in stone. jr is making big power on stock long block but the truth is he will swap in a new engine like underwear, and i may be selling myself short.

manley h beams are rated at 800hp

manley turbo tuff i beams are rated at 1200hp

oem sti rods...400hp?

i certainly dont doubt i will see 500whp...eventually.

i feel like a bad tune would break million dollar rods made from moon steel. and a good tune would carry sti rods pretty closr to 500whp, but no doubt that is on the edge.

so i have to ask myself do i really wanna be on the edge, when H beams exceed 500whp?

NO.

i own the sti rods and the h beams are only 400$ more while my ish is all apart.

seems like i'm skimping out at this point, but if money was no object i would choose the i beams...that is if they werent back ordered till past the shoot out date...

at this point the sperm bank is becoming appealing. anybody wanna buy a kidney? high milelage high ABUSE.

coolrex trapped 138mph with stock STi rods. Jake buy some used 08+ STi rods for 100 bucks since they are thicker than previous years. Torque kill rods not whp, so have the tuner run low timing at peak torque to keep torque down.

Wow, bad advice.

Do it right the first time.

It costs $50+ to fill up at the pump. To cheap out on a build with used rods???

I've said it a hundred times. Spend the money or get out of the game.
