Default Alpina creates 500bhp cabrio

Quote:
Alpina’s Frankfurt motor show star will be the BMW Alpina B6 Bi-Turbo Convertible, which has a top speed of 193mph and boasts 100bhp more than a regular BMW 6-series cabrio.
The manufacturer has teased the 4.4-litre V8 engine’s power output up to 500bhp at 5500rpm, while torque is up to 516lb ft at 3000-4750rpm compared to the 443lb ft of the standard 650i.

Alpina claims the car will offer ‘open-top indulgence par excellence’. It will cover 0-62mph in 4.8sec and offers CO2 emissions of 255g/km.
Fuel consumption is a claimed 25.9mpg. Full details, including pricing, will be revealed at Frankfurt next week.

Nice compromise for a gray-haired droptop DD - likely softer than the upcoming M6 along with an 8-speed. Best reminder - Frankfurt next week!
