I used to own a 2011 Forester, was not a fan of the chrome front so plasti dipped it. It withstood everything for the duration i had it.
Just this weekend i plasti dipped my new ride's ( WRX) wheels. Have to say it turned out pretty good. |

I love the look of the white on white. I picked up a few cans of white plastidip from lowes the other day to try out on the rims and radio trim. If it doesnt work out well i'll just spray them with auto paint.

I looked through most of this thread, but didn't see any pics...
My wheels are dipped black right now and I want to try out white. Has anyone used the "glossifier" on the white dip? If so do you have pics? I want a semi-gloss look, not high gloss. Does it get more glossy the more coats you use? If you have experience, even if its with the glossifier on a different color let me know! |

dont flame too hard....
![]() still in progress ![]() i think the cold in my garage is messing with how it settles on the wheel. then again this is my first plasti dip project so i might just not be experienced enough in it to know. oh well. if it doesnt turn out i will just peel it off i suppose. |

I'm glad you posted that pic up I was very interested in doing my wheels white also but had not seen too many 11-13 wheels dipped white. Looks good! One tip I saw on dipyourcar keep you cans in warm water that way the dip comes out smoother. The cold can make the dip clumpy. So it very well may be the cold if it isn't settling right like you said

Well I must be doing something wrong. This stuff just isn't turning out right. I have applied 4 coats with one light coat for touch up and it just doesn't look right. Or I'm just being anal.
There are still areas where you can see the original color through the white. I'm probably going to end up rempvong thos stuff once its dry rather than have a haggard looking paint job on my wheels Edit: on second thought this is most likely due to the cold and the color difference between original and matte white. I feel as though if I did them in black It would have turned out good Last edited by lovemyscoob06; 03-17-2013 at 08:08 PM. |
