Default My car passed Ontario’s ‘Drive Clean’ emissions testing.

No-load 2500-RPM Test –
HC (ppm) Limit 150: 10
CO (%) Limit 0.70: 0.00
Tested RPM: 2414

Idle Test –
HC (ppm) Limit 150: 86
CO (%) Limit 0.70: 0.00
Tested RPM: 735

That’s with all my mods left alone including the Cobb hi-flo catalytic converter and the supercharger belt driven, as normal. But I had to reset my ECU prior to testing; the test fails if that pesky CE light stays on. After three days or so, that CE light will come back on, but that’s of as long as it’s off during testing. The ECU must be more nitpicky.
Whew!

Is it possible to run with no detectable carbon monoxide (CO) emissions?

Regards,
Ed.

That's hilarious...... you have a full modified car (supercharged) and it easily passed it.....

No wonder the failure grade is about 3% of cars......

I'd laugh if my 1992 Mazda 323 with 261kms passes..... but it only needs to be tested next August 2003.....

Ed:

How did they test the car? I know they can't really dyno it, so do they just rev the engine or what?? If you're coming to the meet tonight, I'll find out then...

My car is due next year (me thinks), but if Ed's passed, then I doubt I will have a problem.

AWD cars are tested under two-speed no-load (free-reving, no dyno) runs; one at idle and one at 2500 RPM.

Odd-yeared cars are tested on even-years. A '99, for example, gets tested this, an even-numbered year.

Not my 99RS.... I squeeked in before the E-testing starts.... so I ended up getting the 2 years of stickers, so I won't be e-tested till May 2004.....
