I did the same exact thing to my XV crosstrek... As soon as I hear the bang I knew it was an axle...

With the wheels spinning so fast and then slamming the brakes on a slippery surface that offered no resistance it put a huge strain on the axle. On top of the wheel being full lock the axle joint is already stressed to the max. Sucks dude.

Could have been worse. I destroyed my rear diff by yanking the e-brake in the snow in the XV also.

Reminds me... I have to take my 2015 wrx to PIA soon because I put a small hole in my axle boot. Damnit...

Did a few things over the last month.... Did a trunk swap (Still want an sti obp wing tho) and did a wheel swap. Now if I can find someone to swap for some premium hid's haha sure that will never happen.... Stupid base model cars
