aftermarket bluetooth is much better. id sell the blueconnect real cheap but im not sure what wires id need to pull out. i took the picture cuz i felt really stupid, i saw in another outback a bin where mounting switches wouldn't be so bad. i thought the blueconnect replaced that whole unit but its just a tiny panel that covers the bin i need. can't wait til i have it all finished. i use the bluetooth on my radio

Fair. Let me know when you're ready, and I'll confirm with the mother that this is what she'll want to try.

Dropped off the Blue Demon today for valve gaskets. Thought it was only leaking at the passengers side but guess I was wrong. Thanks PRE for your attention to detail. Can't wait to get it home for a full detail with my Meguiars masters kit the honey bought me for Christmas.
I just need to go pick up more simple green and a new shop vac tomorrow.

Played around with my new powdercoating rig from harbor freight.

Got a second hand strut tower bar from CL for $50 and decided it would make a good first project.

Here are the strut tower brackets after stripping them to bare metal and powdercoated gloss black.

Finish is actually smooth, looks wrinkled in spots in the pic but that is just the crappy camera.

Very pleased with the results especially for my first attempt.

The box isn't big at all, but this is just for the powdercoating gun. You'll need to supply your own large toaster oven or a old household oven or something to cure the powder.

Here is a link to the gun:

Keep steering wheel controls with exception of Bluetooth/phone ones (the three in the bottom left of wheel). Although the actually Bluetooth setup is better for call quality and noise reduction, it's much more clear and easier to hear. You can simply answer with a touch on the screen and there is no lag/delay like there is with the oem unit.

Hmm thanks. This is starting to make my decision a lot easier. If only I didn't have to PAY money this tax season it would be coming a lot sooner
