I have been driving with H&R Coilovers for 2 weeks now and I got a chance to try out BC BR Coilovers. Drove for a day with them on. I wasn't too happy with them so the next day I took them off and re-installed the H&Rs. H&Rs were better for my driving style and for my commute.

I imagine he was talking about the huge classic car swap meet that was in Portland this weekend... So probably something vintage/hard to find.

Just need to figure out why there's no compression. It starts up but has a rod knock and sounds like a lawn mower.

A general consensus after my last two lapping days is I need a more track suitable brake setup. The stock WRX brakes work perfectly fine, but only if I hold back on use and my top speed.

Got a great buddy hook-up on a set of front and rear Brembos and Girodisc rotors (don't mind the surface rust, they just haven't been used in a while):

I'm just waiting on some 06/07 WRX backing plates to bolt the rears on... cheaper than adapter brackets, and stronger/safer in my opinion.

I'm sure I could have bought better pads and better rotors for my stock setup, but this was a better option... just hoping it doesn't affect my autocross times as much as I think it will (more rotational mass = slower AND a much larger front bias than WRX brakes).

I thought autocross guys like the gravel-spec brake set-ups?

I just want the Alcon 6-pot

Sure, but they're not really an upgrade for 02-05 WRXs (with H6 rear rotors, which is what I have)... the only thing they improve is shifting the braking bias slightly more rearward.

(FYI, Brembos are the most forward biased Subaru brakes, followed by 02-05 WRX, then H6 upgraded rears, then 06-07 "gravel-spec" WRX brakes).

The "improvement" of 06/07 WRX brakes over 02-05 WRX Front / H6 Rear is seriously almost moot. $700+ is not worth such a microscopic improvement.

Now, with Brembos, I'm getting larger rotors for better heat absorption. Which will actually help me on track days (but, on the downside, potentially hurt me with larger rotating mass for autocross).

Sure, I could have bought 06/07 WRX calipers and find some 2-piece rotors so I have a happy medium... but the price I got this setup for, there was no question.

I'll probably just look into some more aggressive rear pads to shift the bias rearward again.

Also, I can't remember the specs of the Alcon brakes, but if the total surface area of the pistons is larger than the Brembos... you're increasing your front bias even more... which will increase understeer under braking even more.

Pretty close.

Replaced two fuel lines that were starting to crack and cleaned up the bay the easy way, scrubbing bubbles. Not a drastic difference but it hasn't been cleaned in almost a year.

Yeah. The shift knobs from flossy are very well made and customizable. I have one and they are very well priced too.
