Keep the results coming Jr and P&L! You guys are doing some big things for the subie community and really setting the bar high, right where it should be. Feels good to see subies that can compete with the evos!

Yeah we still have one. we don't have any pro cars, but I do have the street class Subaru. That's the (I love saying this part to domestic V8 guys), 3200lb (without driver), full interior, full exhaust, power windows, on radials, totally stock body that has run 8.9's for over 5 years now. This is the more recognizable Subaru then my old pro set cars. This street ESX STI Subaru is a 18 time NHRA winner and a 2 time NHRA national champion, and a bucket load of IDRC, NOPI and Battle of the Import wins. If you attend one of our Subaru dealer events, I usually give people (4 people including me) rides around the block and scare them

Ha love it! Smells like my old street racing days.. just without the crowd oohing and awwwiing and the embarrassing looks on peoples faces!

Love to see another Subaru run 7's.. maybe then I'll get serious again. But our car was still about 2200lbs, so regardless of body/suspension/tranny set up, if it's gutted it's gutted. Weight is weight.

I've been thinking about taking our street car and putting it on a diet and bring it down at least 600-800 lbs.. but it would probably barely break into the 7s on slicks at best.

If someone runs 7's soon, then maybe I'll go for it and build another real pro car... but if I do.. it'll go 6's. Remember we ran 7's 5 years ago in our rookie year with that car, it had tons left in it, but the NHRA stopped the series.. that car would've ran hard low 7's, if we had another 6 months with it.

But hey enough of me bench racing... lets see another awd subaru break into the 7's and then maybe I'll wake up!

Seriously though.. you guys are doing great! and I can't wait to see my record get slammed

I love competition.... just ask everyone I've beat.

"If someone runs 7's, i'll just build a new pro car" the Rigolis have been in the 7"s for several years and not in a "pro car"

I thought ESX used Rigoli kit and brought them over to get everything going for their Drag program?

TRP never went 7's in that car....

8.3 @ 158 mph w/ the 4 cyl, t72 and subaru auto

http://www.tonyrigoliperformance.com..._drag_car.html

7.7 @ 176 mph 6 cyl, gt55, lenco tranny, ford 9" rear end

http://www.tonyrigoliperformance.com...g_sti_rwd.html

And i dont know this for sure, but im assuming that since their website hasnt been updated in 2 years that TRP may have closed...or maybe they have a new site

We can add door panels, carpet and heat back to either car. All it will add is around 100lbs. Not to call out your 3200lbs, but I am pretty sure the weight minimum for the class you ran with 2 power adders was 2800lbs. Im sure you were over that, but 3200lbs dry? 3300+ with Julie?

So we are playing with a stock body, stock built auto, stock location(rotated obviously), gasoline, stock driveline.. **** a r160 and well basic **** anyone can buy.. You want to bring out a full tube frame car, meth, extended wheel base etc??

I think we are up for that challenge, see you in the 7s.

Yea the 4cyl never went 7s, not the oem chassis/body car anyway.

We could do a 8.8 rear and real auto in the GC, but that would suck the fun out of having built something that can be easily replicated ( driveline wise )

The one thing that is slipping through the cracks is the fact that P&L and only P&L is building engines making close to or @ 1000hp to the crank that will run again and again down the track and not fail. This is an epic development in Subaru engine development that no one else has been able to achive, If you are in the market for a built motor there should be little doubt of where to go.

subaru race cars with unlimited money and resources is one thing. those cars simply look like subarus.

i give more props to the guy that runs an 8.xx @ 150 that drove the subaru to the track and back home with valid registration, inspection, and insurance.

i know how to get around state inspection...$$$.

police officer..."so how did you get inspection with no cats and a full roll cage?"
me..."i bought it like this"...

police officer..."stand by for the tow truck"
me..."funk that, i'm out you cant catch me!"

police officer..."yeah right kid, lets see you out run redlights, traffic, radio and helicopters." "plus i can just shoot you."
me..."oh yeah...your right"

Everytime we won, the NHRA made us add 100 lbs, we were actually up to 3400lbs at the end of the series. We took 200lb ballast out of it, but it's still heavy. You can put this car on the scales at anytime, it's a fat boy at 3200 lbs.. period. Complete body and chassis are stock. again.. weight is weight.

So we are playing with a stock body, stock built auto, stock location(rotated obviously), gasoline, stock driveline.. **** a r160 and well basic **** anyone can buy.. You want to bring out a full tube frame car, meth, extended wheel base etc??

What you wrote is exactly what we have in our street car... to a T. Stock rear end, driveline, C16 gas, stock location, air/to/air intercooler, stock built auto, etc.. and even on radial tires, with full interior and power windows, full exhaust, etc., at a piggy 3200 lbs. This car is registered and drives around Los Angeles once in a while.. once in a very long while

If I build another pro car, the goal would be 6's and we would run it.

I think we are up for that challenge, see you in the 7s.

I'd love to, just have to find the time.. between all the movies we're making and Subaru dealer tour.. time is precious, but don't get me wrong, racing is in my blood. Lets see another 7 sec suby and then I'll figure something out. Remember we ran 9's before anyone in the world, then 8's and then 7's, and that was like 5 or 6 years ago.

Damn right it is

Its ok Jake, being the underdog is always good.. No pressure to live up to anything.

Now that's very true. We lived as underdogs in the racing world.. just not in the Subaru world..but against all the other cars, our awd was a tough one to sort out.

we are helping though

Yea I remember those guys being here for like a month setting up the car.

TRP run 7's in a 6cyl rwd car with a lenco trans, I think.. I'll ask Dom, but I could be wrong with the trans.. however, it's pretty much a pro car/back half..built inside the shell of a Suby.

We used a TRP kit with our first WRX back in 2001/2001 and they helped us get it together.. and was damn expensive.. but we actually ran faster in our car and broke into the 9's before they did, or anyone did. And that was before we were sponsored. After those years, we have been on our own partnering with the best minds in drag racing..

It's very difficult to run a number like 8 or 7 over and over again on a consistent basis against competition, running a great reaction time, spooling correctly, hooking up correctly, pass after pass.. and still winning. Very tough.
