All I'm asking is, what does p&l 8 second motor run?
The P&L shortblock that is in both our 8 second drag cars retails for about $5-5.5K for the unsleeved (PS3) version and $6.5-7K for the sleeved (PS5) version. We use the PS3 in both cars to keep the cost down due to sleeving. Much cheaper to just build another PS3 block vs a PS5.

Add about another $6-7K for a long block with our cnc heads, cams, oilpan, oilpump.

Thanks for all the great comments guys!

Let me just ad this, we are in no way putting down ESX, Keegan, Rigollis or anyone else with a fast subaru. We share the same passion for motorsports and making Subarus fast as they do. Heck between the 3 they have probably twice the amount of years of experience as I've been alive. Builders like Maxwell power, Keegan, Homemade wrx, Element, were once in my shoes too.

I have a great passion for building race engines and have learned a lot from doing so in the last 5 years. At the same time I don't pretend to know everything about building engines either. I have taken lots of advice from many individuals in the engine world (some good some bad) and adapted it to my own thoughts and techniques for making power with a subaru engine. Its not rockets science per say, its a procedure and system that has just been working for me. We are not using special materials that no one can obtain or make, we are just fortunate to be working with a couple of great part manufactures (CP/Pauter) and being dedicated to being deadnuts with our machining and measurements.

Currently we do not do all our machining in house yet, hopefully by 2012 we will do close to if not all if it. At the moment resurfacing, decking, o-ringing, lineboring, pining, and all block modifications are performed in house on our CNC machine. Boring, Honing, sleeve install are out sourced to one machine shop and are performed to our strict standards. CNC head porting is all performed by another CNC shop that only does heads (they also build heads for the world fastest EVO 8 and GTR). All final assembly, machining of the motors is performed here in house.

Our drag racing program has been developed for about 4 years now on my pocket book and no one else's. And for being behind about 4 years that's fine by us, because if we had the backing of "Subaru" 4 years ago for development and racing we probably would be running in the sevens if not faster.

I'm just happy to be able to build quality engines that can perform and put smiles on my customers faces.

He is
He is back to stg2 WRX now though. The car never got to be put to the test. I know on Pump it went 12.4@12Xmph .. He asked me why it was slower then before, then told me how it spun toward the wall to the 330'

Lots can go wrong with a poorly built auto, but he had a stock one. The trans would not shift positively under power and would smack the limiter. 2 motors were taken out because of a ballooning converter. It did not like 20psi launches

It was not and is not my job to mention pricing. That is what the sales team @ P&L is for.

Read above about Superquick. He is still floating around and soon will be out trying for the td04 record.

I don't think anyone's actually try to insult or put down anyone else. I think it's more like friendly egging-on. Trying to get Ali to come out and play.

After all, it's no fun to race alone without someone else pushing you to better yourself! Well that's how I feel at least, about everything.

I will look into it personally Tuesday when I get to P&L. PM me your number and we still have to chat about tuning your car and the wagon.

We got 2 passes in this past weekend. The first one was an 1/8th hit testing the rwd/awd stuff. The 2nd one the timers didn't work.

The first pass went FAST to the 1/8th
1.35 60ft
5.19@127 1/8th
9.1@135 Letting off

I think we will be sending the car to FL for the PRI weekend and racing it at Orlando Speed World.

A LOT FASTER.. lol. That 1/8th is good for 8.1-20s and the mph should be in the 158-160 range judging by what it picks up on the back end on average.

I think we have the last pass on video.. You should have seen the thing go. I put it in the groove perfect and it left harder then I have ever seen. Dead straight and super smooth.

I cant wait to see it make a pass with a good timer

Wheels up!!

Cut a 1.2960ft and backed that up with a 1.27

Car managed a 9.0@148/9.0@150/9.2@150(trans wont shift 2nd, skip to 3rd) @ 27psi this weekend. Then we broke an AXLE, swapped the axle turned up the boost and now it really wont shift 2nd gear. Should be fixed and running in a few weeks before the season is over.

3 more 8second passes. Car has no 2nd gear engagement on these runs, looking like the clutch packs are done. Went 1st to 3rd and into 4th
