I like meguiars professional yellow wax. It lasts awhile and leaves a nice deep gloss. To the above poster, claybar is not a wax and shouldnt be used in place of it.

any wax, its all on preference. some are good for light colors some are good for dark colors and some are good for metallics. i detail on the side, ive used many brands, and i can tell you they are pretty much all the same.

I only use Zymol Solaris for my car. Nothing but the best.

If your on a budget I suggest Zymol Royal. It doesn't give you quite the same beading that Solaris does, but considering Solaris is now sold out, It will have to do.

I would use a sealant, and followed by a wax for good measure. I highly recommend Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant.

Some good waxes are anything from Dodo Juice, Collinite 845, Nattys Blue or Red, Pinnacle Souveran.

Keep in mind it's not the wax as much as the prep. You can use a high grade wax on an un-unclayed car and get the same results as a low grade wax on a clayed car.

Claying is suppose to be used before you wax your car. If you clay your car your paint will have nothing to protect it.

Ding ding ding.

I bought some of this over the weekend

Meguiars gold shampoo, then clayed, then Nu Finish polish, then two coats of Collinite 845

The depthness of color and wetness I got is pure sex!

Insert "Zaino is king because x reasons" here. I've used Zaino for 5 years and have not had any reason to stop.

Collinite 845 is a fantastic "winter wax" though, because it's very durable like Zaino but it's much cheaper.

Regardless of the product you use, do the process correctly and you will always come out with good results. Wash it, clay bar it, polish it, wax it, repeat wax if you please. If you do those steps correctly you will have a solid wax on your car, with a clean base.

for black i love the look pinnacle souveran leaves behind. just pricey. something i use almost every time is blackfire wet diamond. its not a wax but a sealant. it leaves behind a slick finish and deep shine and water beading is awesome. it wont put a hole in your wallet, (or clutch, for you females out there) and last longer compared to other waxes.

I use MeGuiars canuba gold class wax on my 2009 WRX and on my wifes 2011 Lancer. The wax itself is relatively inexpensive and does a great job. With most waxes you put it on and then have to let that one section haze over and buff it out. With the Canuba, you put it over your whole car and let cure then take it off all at once. I waxed my car in spring and it turned out great. I plan on waxing it in a few weeks before fall hits to better protect the clearcoat.

If you are looking for a wax that will outperform anything, I would recommended looking into some of the industrial waxes that auto detailing places use. Although these waxes are amazing, they will cost significantly more and will come in a much larger quantity than what you would find in the store.

Here is a picture of the wax for reference:

Here is a picture of the wax and detail after. I don't have any before and after pictures but the wax did the job.
