Looks like they just took some of the elements from the CR-Z and mated them to the Civic coupe. Even some Prius touches like that glass panel along the trunk for the rearview. Looks good though... Any tech specs on it?

USDM version will lack projector headlights and anything else making this car unique and attractive.

Cut out the rear doors, and you've got a nice lookin' hatch with a good interior.

Well I wouldn't call it pretty, but unlike the U.S version, at least the Euro-spec car is interesting looking...kind of reminds me of the old civic wagons.

Maybe we just need to stop being the number 1 market to get the good stuff.

I wish Americans were excited about hot hatches as much as europeans are. The get so many hot hatches to choose from it ridiculous.

I think it's improving here, though. There's many more hatchbacks, and even wagons, in the North American market than there were even a few years ago.

But more than there were a year or two, or even three ago I think. Yes Subaru cut the Legacy, but Acura's got the TSX, Audi still has the A3 and A4 (if not the S4 and A6/S6 anymore), there's still BMW wagons for now.... the Cadillac CTS... several new hatchbacks, too....

That's a nice Civic. But that would be a very expensive civic, if it was sold here. especially how low the dollar is to the yen.

I don't care for that green, but otherwise...
I really don't understand why Honda doesn't think these things would sell here. In the absence of a Fit Si, this would be a great step up in performance while still retaining most of the utility. Pretty much all of the Korean mfrs are selling hatchbacks here, VW doesn't have any trouble moving Golfs, Ford Focus and Fiesta, etc. How can there be a business case for, say, the Accord CrossTour AND - not or, but and - the ZDX, but no business case for this case? We're probably not far from replacing the wife's '06 Civic sedan. If this was sold here at the time, it's a virtual certainty that it would be what we buy. |

I don't know why everyone just assumes that this car is better than the US version. I'm sure the suspension tuning is sportier, but that's something Honda could've easily done with the US Civic and chose not to.
As for the actual hardware of the car, I'm not terribly familiar with all the details, but seeing that the Euro version has a torsion beam rear suspension, it doesn't seem all that much more high-brow than the US version. I'll admit it does look hell of a lot better than the new US Civic though. |

I wonder if Honda is planning on making a rear window that you can fully see out a accessory that can be ordered at the dealership.
