I think the 2.0T reference is geared towards future WRXs and STis "coming for the line-up" means, IMHO, for the line-up of Subaru cars. The XV gets the FB2.0

If so, then I wonder if it will vary from the FA engine?

Default Bring the diesel!!

The XV with 2.0D/6MT is my vision of the perfect car. My current 2004 WRX wagon has probably pulled a trailer more times than most trucks and SUVs running around. I don't see a 2.0Na doing that, and the other subaru offerings have grown in to obese generic crossovers. The current Outback being an epic FAIL in my book. Especially after the sleek look of the previous version

PLEASE bring the DIESEL!!

I was looking at pictures of the original concept. Almost exactly the same as the production version of course, but I'd like to see that body colored bar in the grille be offered at least as an option. That made it look more unique, IMO.

SO that's how they have a scoopless TMIC? Easy to drill a hole in the hood and slam a home depot vent on it then

Default XV coming here for 2013, but may have a different name

I know this is posted in the Impreza thread, but it belongs here.

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...2013-exclusive

My sales guy thinks it will have the 2.5 engine when it comes here, so maybe "XV 2.5"?

Bob

Good news!

2.5 sounds good. I hope they just replace the Sport trim with this, though. Also hope they keep the Impreza name and don't try to pretend it's not an Impreza. Impreza XV 2.5i is fine. Or Impreza XV Sport 2.5i.

I disagree. I hope the Impreza name does not show up on this car. It should stand on its own merits, and not be marketed as a sub-set of the Impreza lineup.

*shrug* It always bothered me that they used the name Outback Sport when the car was an Impreza. I hope there's no Outback moniker this time. There's a little more differentiation with XV, but it's still 95% an Impreza hatch. Whatever they name it, I'm glad it's coming.

Good to hear it's coming over, but reading Subaru say this is an all new vehicle is like listening the Vanilla Ice defend the originality of the track used in Ice Ice Baby. Just call it Impreza XV and be done with it.

An all new vehicle that just happens to look almost identical to another of their vehicles. Still, I really like it. Personally, I'd prefer the 2 liter version. I guess it's too early to ask if it'll have the stop-start system of the Euro version. For that matter, does anyone know if Subie is planning on making stop-start available in the U.S. sometime? I know that Mazda isn't for the moment because the way the EPA tests cars, the benefits don't show.

If Subaru offers the 2.0D and 6 speed manual in the XV is the US it would be at the top of my list for replacing my OBS in 2014 or 2015. Add a LSD (torsen) to the rear and front diffs and you can move that date to 2013.

I may not like all the other gadgets and the styling leaves me flat, it does have one of the best/capable AWD systems on the market.

I sure as **** hope they DON'T mess with the grille. I think this grille looks killer and it'd be a damn shame if they add the Mach 5 razor look of the current Outback...
