Wow a 300lb gain? 0-60 in 3.8 is nice, but the prior model was only slower by .2 sec. I wonder how they would compare on a track.

and there's that too. I forget about that with this and the Elise. It would have to be strickly a track car for me, I'd be afraid of getting destroyed by a bumpkin in a jacked up F250 or Z71 here in Bama.

265 tires on back vs 225, 5 lug hubs, actual glass out back, 2 more cylinders....etc

The old supercharged exige s are quick to 60, but arnt that fast much above 80. I expect this to cure that.

My guess is WAY faster on track.......

Depending on the track. On a tight course (even autox) it would only be way faster, but on a bigger course it's probably WAY teh fast3r.

I think I would agree - the top speed alone is quite a difference: 170mph from 145mph? That's a big difference if you're ever hitting a high-speed section on a track.

Anything higher speed than an "open" autocross would get the full size way imho.

So you don't drive any small cars? The body panels whether steel or fiberglass offer virtually no protection in an impact. The aluminium tub in these cars is very strong and deep and they have a large composite crash structure up front. I'd be curious to see test results compared to a Miata or similiar car.

You do realize that sheet metal does zero for crash-worthiness, right?

I heard the same ignorant crap about Saturn 25 years ago. I guess people never learn.

Doesn't matter what it's made of. When you're in a tiny car and get ran over by a big vehicle. You get crushed.

While I haven't been to the Glen, Monticello is the best track I have ever been on by vast margins. Now you gotta be a millionaire is right.

In terms of driving, the Glen is more fun.

But the combination of track and facilities at Monticello is

the pedals are really really offset to the right. notice how hard the driver's leg is pushing on the gear lever in the nurburgring video? it almost looks like the gas pedal is directly inline with the shifter! but maybe it was a weird camera angle, or maybe the guy was 10 feet tall. either way, i'd kill to own one of these. and i like the added length. it makes it look like a mini Carrera GT. i don't know why lotus never uses LSD's in their cars, but throw one in there, and you'd have the perfect car, in my book.
