Default Blower motor relay location?!

I searched to troubleshoot/fix the problem. I came to the conclusion it was the relay. Ordered the part for 7 bucks shipped, got in the the mail today.

I can not find it! I've been looking around the fuses. All the searching told me it was above fuses, in a vertical stack with other relays. And it is the top one, usually with a clear plug.

Does anyone have a picture of this?

In a 93 L. Hell, i can take pictures of where im looking if that'd help too. This has me so frustrated!

Find blower motor wiring connection in passenger footwell under dash. follow wiring back to resistor. Should be bolted HVAC box somehow.

this may be fixed by now but for anyone interested, the heater/AC blower motor relay is on the left side of the interior fuse box (sitting in the car) its the top one.

Now if only I could figure out what the bottom one is?

Had a shop tell me they were 100% sure it was the switch, spent 50 bucks on a new one, wasnt the problem . I still have the relay, still can't find where it goes. The relay i have seems pretty big, is there any way you can snap a picture of it? That is, if you have a GC.

This is the location on my 93 Legacy, should be pretty much the same for your Impreza.

Clear out this jumble of wiring.

Blower motor relay is the white one. While you're looking around up there you will probably come across a green relay which is for the fuel pump, and a big brown box which is the ignition/main switch.

Is that called an "ac relay" or "blower motor relay"? Because im only finding an "ac relay" at subaruparts.com and http://www.subarugenuineparts.com/. And the "blower motor relay i bought seems to be too big. Here is a picture of the relay i thought it was and bought:

To be honest with you im not sure what that rectangular part is that you posted. I have an 04 wrx and my fan motor (Both A/C and Heat) run off a relay that looks like the one that Jessekrs123 posted

The dealer part number for the blower motor relay you are looking for is 82501GA240. (I'm pretty sure that is the part number for my legacy, it just says "relay" on the bill but it was around the time I remember getting it)

Get it from the dealer because when I went out looking for this relay, it was more expensive at the parts stores than it was at the dealer. It'll run you around $35.

The A/C relay is a different part located behind the glove box somewhere and is not the same relay.

OP what was the original problem?

Are you looking for the blower motor relay or blower motor resistor?

My directions above were for the blower motor resistor, which is bad usually if your blower motor only works on one setting (usually high).

If your blower motor is not working at all, then it's probably the blower motor relay, which is usually in the underhood fuse box. I just looked at the 03 FSM and it is, and I think it will be the same for your 93.

The AC relay turns the AC compressor on and off.

I just looked, and all of my under the hood relays are labeled "a/c relay".

Blower motor relay is certainly not located in the underhood fusebox, those relays are for the radiator fans/A/C components.

I have a detailed diagram above of where the blower motor relay is located on my 1993 Legacy which should by WAY more similar to the OP's 93 Impreza, rather than what Seahawk's 03 FSM states.

Make sure you didn't blow out the blower motor fuses when you were going through and testing. (Been there, done that)

I even gave you a part number, what more do you need?

Boy I'm cranky today...

I guess you can ignore my advice, despite having dealt with your same problem in my Legacy, and testing everything that has to do with the blower motor under the sun... but what do I know right?

Glad you figured it out, it takes a lot of fiddling to fit your hands in there and disconnect the relay.
