Default Buying in Delaware as a Marylander?

I noticed Delaware (New Castle) Subaru is advertising $1500+ discounts on Imprezas while Bel Air (which I live within spitting distance of) and Annapolis are not mentioning any similar programs on their websites this week.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would it be better to work a price match with a Maryland dealer, or would the DE dealer be able to process the registration, taxes, etc for Maryland tags? I previously bought an out-of-state used vehicle, which turned into a complete disaster so I know it might not be an easy process, but saving a grand or more is a big incentive.

I have friends in that area of DE, so driving up there for service on occasion isn't a big deal to me.

It would always be better for you to work out a deal with your local dealer if possible. Then you get what ever perks the dealer offers. These perks can generally beat any small price differences.

If you can't make a deal worth your while then go to DE and buy the car. Should be a fairly straightforward affair. We regularly sell cars to MD,DC,VA,DE,etc with no issues.

We have a Ask a car salesman sticky above for any future sales related questions.

You should be able to get Annapolis to match any deal you could get somewhere else. I got Lancaster Subaru to match the deal that Annapolis was going to give me, but Annapolis couldn't get me the car I wanted. I purchased in Lancaster, PA and they took care of all the registration, taxes and titling as if I had bought it in MD. They gave me temp paper plates to use until my real plates came.

And why would you have to go back to DE for service? You can get your car serviced at any dealer and they aren't going to care where you bought it.

I've been bombarded with Bel Air's ads where they mention free oil changes, etc, so I assumed the other dealers would have similar promotions.

Is this for a base model impreza? I live in bel air as well and have had some experience with jones Subaru and if its a turbo model, you should listen to thier perks. The only ones worth it for turbos are car washes and manicures, if the second even applies to you

My girlfriend would love the chance for the free manicures, but I know she'd sign for a complete engine replacement if that meant a free pedicure so I'd never trust her to drop it off.

I'm shopping for a sport premium hatchback, I wish I could get the WRX but my commute is not manual-friendly and my wallet couldn't handle the tickets.
