Smile Question on engine swap

Right now I've got a 2001 2.5 RS and I'm planning on doing a JDM V4 STI engine/gearbox swap. The engine comes with ecu and wiring harness, however I've been warned about using the JDM ECU due to the lack of tuning capability, and the loss of the ODB2 Port. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on to my best course of action. I've been considering buying an 04-05 STI ECU and Harness and splicing the wires onto the existing sensors. I know as well I will need to get an STI rear diff so that the RS one doesn't break on me, and I will need bigger brakes. The swap also comes with front halfshafts, control arms, knuckles, springs and struts. Any insight into my upcoming decision is appreciated.

Talk to Rob about chipping the ECU, but generally you are correct, it cannot be tuned via open source. The bigger question is whether the car needs to be OBDII compliant? If it does then you will need to look at other options.

Default Odb2

Well, becuase of oklahoma laws, It doesn't have to be smog tested or anything, but what I'm mostly after is the tuning ability, if anyone knew if a WRX or an Sti wiring harness and ecu would work with it.

if thats the case, OBDII is a non issue and I would look at a standalone like the ViPEC, LINKG4 or Haltech. IMHO trying to merge a WRX/STi harness is too much work when you can merge your existing harnesses to the JDM harness and then use the standalone for tuning.
