Hey Rob, the ride is good, I have now put about 7000 miles on then and they are as good as day one. I just pulled the wheels last week to inspect them and the Maine salt has been good to them.

I did have to add thrust washers on top of the front springs to keep them rotating under load. Because the car is corner balanced, it puts different stress on each spring separately and the front right spring is tighter then the others because it carries more weight to balance out. The thrust washer just helps the spring rotation. I called Stance about the washers and they overnighted two washers for free, customer service is A+!!

Overall the ride is something to get used to. It's stiffer then expected but I ride with the dampeners set at 1 out of 15 for the daily drive..
I guess it depends on the purpose of the build. For what I do, it's a little much but I have the ability to height adjust if needed. Not that I ever had too but when I change wheels it's nice to know that I have options.

I would do them again if I had too, good quality, good price, perfect fit!

Cheers!

Over the weekend I did a little spring cleaning to the front suspension.
The reason for this is because I had to put in a thrush washer on top of the springs to stop a "ping" sound that started about a month ago when I turn the wheel. The reason for the "ping" is because the springs are getting caught up on the top spring perch. Since the car is corner balanced, there is more weight on the front right spring then the others. Being said, the spring is tighter to offset the heavier weight and it's tension makes the rotation harder then the other three springs.
The simple fix was to place a thrust washer in between the top of the spring and the spring perch. I called Stance to explain the problem and the first question was if the car was corner balanced. They overnighted a pair of washers for the front and today was a perfect day to throw them in.

Since I had to take the coilovers apart, I went ahead and cleaned, greased and polished what I could, put the washers in and put them back in the car.

I was overall excited with the condition of the front coilovers... Being on the coast of Maine, the salt in the air and all over the streets take a beating on equipment. I'm a big fan of drenching the suspension in WD-40 and I think it did a great job.

Here are some of the pictures!

Handeling.... Awesome!!
Ride.... on the stiff side. Not bouncy or anything just not like riding on Epic springs and Koni struts. Since the roads are terrible where I live, I feel they are pretty harsh at times but are incredible on nice paved roads unlike the crap I have here in Maine.

Drove through a mountain pass a couple weeks ago and had the time of my life on the hairpin turns... I put the dampening on #9 and cranked through corners!!

Nope, I used the factory bolts in the front and decided not to use any camber adjustment in the rear. I had the car aligned and corner balanced and found that the ride has been great and tire wear to be perfectly flat.

Now that I am upgrading to an 18x9 wheel soon I will be adding the rear camber bushings from whiteline to give the alignment shop the option to move the rear if needed.

Cheers!

Great write up. Thanks.

Looks like a breeze to install, too. I had a 350z before and it was a pita to change out the suspension.

It was a total breeze, I think it took longer to take the wheels off then to do the suspension

Just an update on the suspension for those who have been flowing.
I was able to get rid of the pinging noise from the front right spring after the installation of the new washer on top of the spring. It worked well for a couple weeks but the noise is back again.

I spoke with Stance again today and they were able to send to me a newly designed bearing for under the pillow ball mounts. I'm not sure exactly where it goes yet but I'l get to see it soon!!

I'll post pictures when I get it...

in the camber plate, did you shoot some lithium grease on the outside of the pillow ball mount? i had one go over 4 years of autox/track on my race coilovers.... to the point once the load of the car would change (side to side), it would give a good knock. replaced the mount and all good.

I don't remember if I specifically put grease up there but the last cleaning I did, I re-greased almost everything. The pinging noise is coming from the strut not being able to rotate freely. From the original design they never has a bearing where the strut shaft connects to the pillowball so when it binds up all the rotation is coming from the spring. So the noise that I'm hearing is coming from the spring trying to twist under pressure and just binding up against the top perch.
Hopefully the new bearing will fix this particular problem.

Thank you for the tip on top, when I install the bearing I'll definitely remember to grease up there!

I haven't been able to find any place that sells or even lists Stance Coilovers for our cars. I bought them form THMotorsports but I had to call since it's not listed on their site either. They seem to be the only guys that have them.

Here is the link to their site

Slight issue with the bottom bracket... Seems like a manufacturing fault. They've send a new one to me but wanted the old one back for inspection. I just happened to see it while cleaning but it was fully functional and didn't give me any sign of problems.

Again, quick action of the customer service and they had a new replacement on it's was immediately.
