Default Painting SWP bumper

I so my idiot neighbor backed into my front bumper scraping a good amount of paint, and now I have to find a body shop

Car's a 2011 STI in SWP, I went to one shop and quoted me $700 if they paint just the bumper, but being that it's pearl they cannot guarantee me it will match my fenders, so if they fade the paint into the fenders, the total is $1200.... does this sound right? Does that price seem fair?
Has anyone had luck painting just the bumper and it matching? Thanks!

You will not paint just the bumper and be happy with it, not happening. Your insurance company should pay to make the car right which includes blending of the fenders. And yes, that price sounds about right.

Your neighbors insurance company should pay your insurance deductible in order to have it painted! Well it depends on what state your from and its laws regarding vehicle insurance. But, definitely get it blended because it'll never match. Their is way too many variables that can effect the color and shade of the paint.

body shop quoted me 1050 for a brand new front bumper + paint job (07 sti) or 950 to redo current one and its not damages or anything just got lots of rock chips.

tricoat is hard to match unless you do a spay out..
blending the fenders is not going to help because they will paint the bumper off the car anyways, also most painters cannot blend tricoat the manufacture of most paints reccomend doing a sprayout on tricoats and only panel painting them not blending
any real painter knows this
find someone who uses PPG Envirobase its ability to match is 98%
it will be upto the painters own abilites to match then

+1 on the PPG waterbase. comes out great with the pearl. however Shilohb is right if its a bad painter there is no saving him. and the price seems right imo.
